2. What with India's caste system, any fellow Indian could claim that the people who are suffering

are from a lower caste, and therefore, not worthy of sympathy, or even of empathy.

5. I worked under an Indian manager for a while, toward the end of my time at a tech company.

Interestingly, he emigrated to Canada with his family and was working on bringing his mother over.

When he took over my team (we were all remote), our Friday meetings became a sort of team-building thing where everyone just BS'ed. It was interesting but once or twice, he asked me about TSF in admiring tones. I thought he might've been being deliberately provocative but I couldn't quite tell. And there were times that I realized I had misread him but I still shut that topic down, saying I didn't do politics at work -- which really surprised him.

Anyway, when I saw this story, I wondered what he thought about that.
