US 'Spies Abroad' Could Be Exposed via Payments Accessed by DOGE: Report

Source: Newsweek

A top Treasury official is reportedly concerned that allowing employees from Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency access to the department's payments system could endanger American spies abroad. According to The Washington Post, which cites "five people with knowledge of the matter," the official raised their fears about the threat to U.S. spies in a memo sent to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. Newsweek contacted the Treasury Department and CIA for comment on Saturday via email and online inquiry form respectively outside of regular office hours.

Why It Matters

Following President Donald Trump's inauguration on January 20, his close political ally, technology billionaire Elon Musk, was placed in charge of the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which has been tasked with slashing waste from federal spending.

On January 31, Bessent approved a request for DOGE employees to be given access to the Treasury Department's payment system, which contains trillions of dollars' worth of transactions, including Social Security checks and tax refunds. However, access was restricted to two Treasury Department employees affiliated with DOGE, Tom Krause and Marko Elez, following a legal challenge brought by two unions and an advocacy group. This access was also classed as read only.

If the Treasury official is correct, and DOGE access to their payment system risks exposing American spies abroad, it represents a clear security threat to the United States. However, critics will likely see this as an excuse for the federal bureaucracy, which they dub the "deep state," to restrict scrutiny of its work.

Many members of the Saudi's Royal Family disappeared after Jared's trip down there.......and they rewarded him well for the intel he shared with them.......Two Billion Worth........ Jared also probably provided them with the in depth military capabilities of everyone within two thousand miles of Saudi Arabia.......AND any intel provided to us from our counties allies.......

Within 24 hours after Musk/Trump obtain the list of people and contracts of everyone in the CIA or the 10-15 different intelligence agencies, I imagine it will be given to Putin for free, and sold to any other government who wants the information.......

By their thinking, it's probably no big deal, any more than Dick Cheney/Rumsfeld outing Valerie Plame's CIA employment to punish her for her husband telling the press that Saddam was no where near having nuclear capabilities.

They will sell all of America's secrets to anyone who can pay their price.
And if it kills US military and intelligence assets that is fine with them.

They will kill as many Americans as it takes to get what they want.

Yes of course, Jared getting $2B from the Saudis means he gave them a huge amount of information,
just as you describe. And he didn't care who was killed.

From 2017:

President Trump revealed highly classified information to the Russian foreign minister and ambassador in a White House meeting last week, according to current and former U.S. officials, who said Trump’s disclosures jeopardized a critical source of intelligence on the Islamic State.

The information the president relayed had been provided by a U.S. partner through an intelligence-sharing arrangement considered so sensitive that details have been withheld from allies and tightly restricted even within the U.S. government, officials said.

Snot nosed nerds expose American spies to the enemies, putting American spies in danger. And the kiddie hackers never have a comfortable day for the rest of their lives.
