US 'will not put up' with Zelensky for long, warns Trump

Source: The Times

President Trump has attacked his Ukrainian counterpart for suggesting that the end of the war “is still very, very far away”.

President Zelensky made his statement in London on Sunday.

“This is the worst statement that could have been made by Zelensky, and America will not put up with it for much longer!” Trump said in a post on his Truth Social website today. He also criticised European leaders.

“It is what I was saying, this guy doesn’t want there to be Peace as long as he has America’s backing and, Europe, in the meeting they had with Zelensky, stated flatly that they cannot do the job without the US — Probably not a great statement to have been made in terms of a show of strength against Russia. What are they thinking?”

Trying to get Zelenskyy to surrender is evil, but Donnie isn't even going about that effectively.

If you want to get someone to surrender, you have to make it look like they're winning *something*. But Donnie is making it look like accepting his terms would be caving and surrendering and weak and pathetic.

Putin would probably agree to a cease fire if Zelensky were replaced with a Russian stooge (in addition retaining the Ukrainian land he stole).

With a pro-Kremlin president place (like in Belarus) Putin could then take his time 'acquiring' the rest of the country.

Watch this become a condition of any peace agreement.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is a real deal hero who told America that he didn’t need a ride but
ammunition when part of the 2nd largest army in the world was 100 miles from him and
were looking to kill him. Instead he stayed and rallied his nation and the world to meet
the Russians head on. Slava Ukraine!

Volodymyr told Krasnov to his face that Ukraine wasn’t going to surrender or give away
its mineral wealth either.

It's complete thoughts (albeit in a run-on sentence or two). There are no misspellings, but still some odd punctuation. Even Zelenskyy is spelled correctly with 2 "y's". Apparently he didn't earn a nickname yet from Felon45.

Every time a republi-con speaks, I don't really care what they're saying because it's been years since we've heard one of them speak a full-on truth. They open their mouth or I read a quote from one and all I hear is the teacher's voice from the Charlie Brown cartoons.

I'm beginning to wonder if Merrick Garland was a Russian asset. He and Judge Cannon seemed to create insurmountable obstacles to holding Felon45 accountable for his crimes.

BTW, Tangerine Man just gave the entire DOJ a big "f*ck you" by sending the boxes of classified documents he stole at the end of his first term back to Mar-A-Lego for no reason other than to rub it in their faces. He has complete access to the means for properly storing the documents, but they're heading back to the MAL bathroom.

The E.U.'s foreign minister said that the free world "needs a new leader.” She didn’t call out Trump by name, but given the context, she didn’t have to.

In his inaugural address six weeks ago, Trump declared, "From this day forward, our country will ... be respected again all over the world." How's that working out?

In his inaugural address six weeks ago, Trump declared, "From this day forward, our country will ... be respected again all over the world." How's that working out?

He's failing spectacularly.

And yet, Trump has suggested that he, and he alone, can restore the country’s international standing, despite reality. Indeed, in his second inaugural address, Trump declared, “From this day forward, our country will ... be respected again all over the world.”

Six weeks later, the world is eagerly expressing its respect for one country and one leader, but it’s not our country and it’s not our leader. The New York Times reported:

European leaders quickly pledged their continued support for Ukraine on Friday after President Trump’s blistering criticism of Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, in a meeting at the White House. Leaders lined up behind Ukraine and praised its embattled president, the statements coming one after the other: from France, Germany, Poland, Spain, Denmark, the Netherlands, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Norway, Finland, Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, Slovenia, Belgium, Lithuania, Luxembourg and Ireland. Canadian, Australian and New Zealand leaders added their voices to the Europeans’.

That list reads like an inventory of countries that have stood proudly with the United States for generations. But after Friday’s fiasco in the Oval Office, leaders and officials from these countries practically tripped over each other to express their public support for Ukraine and its president — making clear to global audiences that they were not on board with the American president’s obscene display.

Indeed, one day after the debacle at the White House, Zelenskyy arrived in London to a hero’s welcome from British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:mcxwgi6ytwp72kzqmujcixep/post/3ljdve64tck2e

The embrace came on the heels of European Union foreign minister Kaja Kallas saying, “Today it became clear that the free world needs a new leader.”

She didn’t call out Trump by name, but given the context and the circumstances, she didn’t have to.

As the dust settles, Britain, France and Ukraine have agreed to work on a ceasefire plan. It’s the kind of work that used to be done by and with the United States — and would’ve been done by and with the United States up until six weeks ago.

41. White House takes aim at Zelenskyy's 'body language' and fashion choices
Mon Mar 3, 2025, 06:49 PM
Mar 2025

What exactly did Volodymyr Zelenskyy do that left officials in the West Wing so offended? They have a list, but it’s awfully pitiful.

https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/white-house-takes-aim-zelenskyys-body-language-fashion-choices-rcna194515

As Friday’s fiasco in the Oval Office made painfully clear to the nation and the world, Donald Trump and his White House have a problem with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Indeed, over the last few days, there’s been all kinds of talk emanating from the West Wing about the Ukrainian leader needing to “apologize” to the American president — and perhaps even resigning.

But what is it, specifically, that Zelenskyy did that was wrong?

Zelenskyy apparently made the wrong fashion choices: Before the Ukrainian leader even entered the White House, he was greeted by Trump, who said: “Look, you’re all dressed up today.” Interest in Zelenskyy’s clothing intensified from there, especially among conservative media personalities — though they appeared far less concerned about Elon Musk wearing a baseball cap and a “tech support” T-shirt in the West Wing.

Zelenskyy apparently used “body language” the White House didn’t like: During an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” White House national security adviser Mike Waltz said the Ukrainian president was “incredibly disrespectful” while being berated in the Oval Office. To bolster the point, he pointed to “the body language, the shaking of head ... the arms crossed.”

Zelenskyy apparently had criticisms for the authoritarian leader who invaded his country and butchered his people: After the Ukrainian leader said Russia’s Vladimir Putin “hates” Ukraine, Trump chided Zelensky for “speaking badly about somebody else” — because if there’s one thing we know about the Republican president, it’s that he just cannot abide speaking badly about people.

.....Each of these complaints make Trump and his team appear rather weak and easily offended — unless, of course, the White House planned to take offense from the outset, and Republican officials looked for post-hoc rationalizations to justify the positions they were going to take anyway.

There is a straightforward case one could make for why the altercation could be a political liability for Trump. A solid majority of Americans sympathize with Ukraine in the war. For instance, in a recent Economist/YouGov survey, 58% of Americans say that in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, they sympathize more with Ukraine.

Just 3% say they sympathize more with Russia, while 27% say they sympathize more with “neither.” Twelve percent are not sure.

This includes 47% of Republicans who sympathize more with Ukraine.

Polling also consistently shows that Vladimir Putin is deeply unpopular while a plurality of Americans like Zelenskyy.
