if he cuts a deal with the GOP that sells us out yet again. It seems that Social Security cuts are now on the table despite being "off the table" a few weeks ago.

After turning left for the election, the President is turning right again for reasons I cannot fathom.

which was an excellent appearance. I think after he signs off on a Republican-type benefit cut (maybe Christmas Eve, to keep it under the radar), some will still be taken in by the speech (How could a man who gave a speech like that really harm seniors & indigents?) But when it's done the teabaggers, Fox Nation, and gunsters will still detest him, and some more traditional Dems will hop off of the bandwagon.

While I am also concerned about the current negotiations, I wonder if the populace at large will remember/ hold anyone accountable for a lame duck session deal.

If he flips on SS, he is still a better choice than Romney, but he is no democrat.

by his own admission. He said today that in the 80s he would have been a moderate Republican.
This is no surprise to many of us who wanted a more progressive candidate. His popularity is a surprise to me given his record.

to be pointing out how far to the right the GOP has lurched.

Sadly, we are not such a progressive country. We have a strong spirit of individualism and less emphasis on collective good or taking care of each other.

He needs to back it up with action and also with not touching my future Social Security investment.
