Trump pulls security clearances for Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton

Source: Reuters

WASHINGTON, March 21 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday rescinded the security clearances for former Vice President Kamala Harris and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and others, according to a memorandum issued by the White House.
The Republican president, who has also revoked the security clearance for former President Joe Biden, faced Clinton in the 2016 presidential election and Harris in last year's election.

Just happened. More to come.

Well, I hate to get anything from Newsmax, but I can't find the rest of this story anywhere else. It does credit Reuters for the story. WTF?

The Orange Menace declared:
"I have determined that it is no longer in the national interest for the following individuals to access classified information,” Trump wrote in the memorandum sent to all executive departments and agency heads before naming all of the individuals affected."

The list includes former Secretary of State Antony Blinken and former Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco and "any other member of Joe R. Biden's family," he wrote.

The individuals named in the memo have been central figures in various investigations, prosecutions, or political opposition to Trump during and after his first term. New York Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, for example, were involved in civil and criminal cases against the former president in New York.

Former Republican congressional lawmakers Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney served on the House January 6th Committee, while Jake Sullivan and Blinken were among the most senior officials in the current Biden administration.

The clearance is enormously valuable for private sector work in the defense, legal, and financial sectors (among many others). It ensures employers don't have to pay for it and gives them a leg up on obtaining government contracts.

It's a standard benefit of performing government service and shocking to see its removal for political ends.

...there are some notable consequences (not just because of these two, but also others whose clearances he similarly has had revoked). As others have said, there will be fewer people in a position to see some of the questionable things he might do behind the scenes; and those with revoked clearances have lost a valuable asset in their own employability. Also, while this president would have no interest in getting advice from these people, the next president might, and now these people's own information will be out-of-date when the next president takes office.

The freak will keep expanding his Kremlin-dictated enemies list, until it includes everyone who's not just an unqualified shill for himself and the Kremlin. He'll get around to Barack Obama eventually, and on that day the smiles will mostly be on Democratic faces.

While the revocations may not have immediate impacts, it is another sign of the growing political rift in Washington as Trump seeks revenge on his perceived enemies. The memorandum was issued hours after Trump arrived at his Bedminster, New Jersey, golf property for the weekend.

Trump also targeted Republican former Representative Liz Cheney, a sharp Trump critic, former Biden White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan and Fiona Hill, a Russia expert who served on his National Security Council during his first term.
Mark Zaid, a national security lawyer in Washington who represents whistleblowers, and Adam Kinzinger, a former Republican lawmaker who is a sharp Trump critic, were among several others who had their security clearances revoked.
He had already revoked the security clearance for Biden, denying the former president to the traditional access to U.S. intelligence.

Former U.S. presidents have traditionally received intelligence briefings so they can advise incumbent presidents on national security and foreign policy. In 2021, Biden revoked the security clearance for Trump, who was then a former president.

Biden pulled Trump and his families Security clearances before Biden even took office........The intelligence agencies had proof that Trump was giving, not only the U.S. inelligence, but every allied country's intelligence to Putin, and Jared was making many foreign trips to places like Saudi Arabia and selling the same to them.
For TWO BILLION dollars, he must have given the Saudi Prince all the military and nuclear info on every other country within thousands of miles of their country.......

I think it is safe to say, that NO allied country will EVER trust us again with their Intel.....

I hope he suffers a slow and excruciatingly painful death that he is fully aware of while it's happening. I want him to be so scared that it adds to his misery that should last at least a month.

Best case scenario: He runs away to someplace where he experiences all of the above while not being attended to by whomever he sought help from.

These people aren't "stars" or "athletes." They are public servants. What makes you think most of them could afford private security?

I guess you don't understand they could be targets for kidnapping and/or assassination. I can only guess you didn't live through the 1960s.
