House unanimously adopts resolution condemning Minnesota shootings

The House on Wednesday unanimously adopted a resolution condemning the shootings in Minnesota earlier this month that left a state lawmaker and her husband dead and two others wounded.

The resolution cleared the chamber in an overwhelming 424-0 vote, a strong, bipartisan show of disapproval for the attacks that shook Minnesota and Washington, putting a spotlight on the rising threats against elected lawmakers.

The legislation said the House “strongly condemns and denounces” the shootings, honors the life of state Rep. Melissa Horman (D) and her husband, Mark, who were killed in the attack, as well as state Sen. John Hoffman (D) and his wife, Yvette, who were critically wounded.

It also honors the “courageous” law enforcement officers who responded to the scene.

5. My first reaction to this is "big f***ing deal.

Get back to me when they pass some strict gun control laws unanimously. It's so easy to pretend they care by voting to "condemn" it.

7. I guess the Republicans felt that it might give "cover" to anyone who might like to shoot THEM,

if they voted against it.... now they can worry about whether it will piss off
any anti-abortion extremists with guns, because they voted for it.....
