Canadian citizen dies while in U.S. ICE custody in Florida

A Canadian citizen has died while in custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Florida and awaiting removal from the United States, the agency says.

The Canadian, identified as 49-year-old Johnny Noviello, was found unresponsive Monday at the Federal Detention Center in Miami and was attended to by medical staff, but was pronounced dead the same day, ICE said in a statement Wednesday.

The cause of death remains under investigation.

On edit, he was arrested after serving time for a drug charge, but he'd been in ICE custody for a month. Being an actual criminal, you would think he would have been deported instantly. How long did it take before they sent all those "gang" members to the prison in El Salvador?

Probably the starting place to investigate. There have been too many reports of people being held by ICE (or whoever the cos players are) not getting adequate (or any) water. Dehydration kills and it can do it really fast in heat.

And not much after that. I can totally see how dehydration could kill someone under those conditions.
