I know a lot of people don't really follow soccer here, but Diogo Jota was a certified superstar. Liverpool won the English Premier League title this year, and he played for Portugal as well, which just won the Euro Nations League Cup this summer. This is giant (and tragic) international news.

Very sad.

Was Swagart even truly relevant before that? Other than being the cousin of both Mickey Gilley and Jerry Lee Lewis, a grifter and user of prostitutes, I mean?😂

This is devastating news. He was an amazing footballer. One of the best to players ever produced by Portugal.

He was also a husband, father, friend, teammate, brother and son. He was an incredibly kind human being.

He will be missed but in Liverpool we are all family and with Liverpool You Never Walk Alone

When the news broke. Absolutely devastated. I’ve been a Liverpool fan a long time and whilst I generally don’t fuss over celebrities’ deaths, this one hit me like a train.
Klopp’s and Virgil’s tributes were touching and terribly sad to read
