And here we go. This has been predicted since November, they're going to make the BLS an arm of their political party so they can pretend everything is fine when we fall into a Depression. And the media will ask questions for about 2 or 3 weeks and then just go along.

This is terrifying. Imagine a world where UE is 15%, but the corporate media gleefully reports the BLS numbers as written by Trump to be 3%. Imagine a world with 10% inflation, but the BLS says it's 1%. That's where we're heading.

A lot of policy and safety nets is driven by the official BLS data. BLS says low UE and unemployment doesn't get enhancements, other aid for struggling families doesn't get activated. The workers who lose their jobs will eventually come crawling back willing to work for nothing.
