Kash Patel posts cryptic message amid Bolton raid

FBI Director Kash Patel posted a cryptic message Friday morning amid reports that federal agents were conducting a raid at the home of John Bolton, President Trumps former national security adviser. NO ONE is above the law
@FBI agents on mission, Patel wrote on social platform X shortly after 7 a.m., without mentioning anyone by name.
Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino shared Patels comment in a separate post, adding, Public corruption will not be tolerated. Vice President Vance also reshared the FBI chiefs post. The agency declined to comment to The Hill on the meaning of the posts.
An FBI official and another source familiar with the matter confirmed to NewsNation, The Hills sister network, that agents conducted a search at Boltons home in Bethesda, Md., near Washington, D.C., on Friday morning. The search is related to classified information, sources told NewsNation and other outlets.
Bolton, who served in Trumps first administration, has been a vocal critic of the presidents foreign policy, particularly his handling of the Russia-Ukraine war. In his own post on Friday morning around the time of the reported FBI raid, Bolton posted on X to further criticize the administration.

(1,991 posts)They said he wrote a book about his time in Trumpworld and submitted it for review which was dragged out but finally cleared. But, the Trump admin wanted another review but Bolton had published, and the Trump FBI had an investigation which was closed under Biden.
This is apparently at the end of the Statute of Limitations but Trump retaliation where he can get it.

(81,554 posts)....Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, who has criticized the bureaus leadership under the Trump administration, called the post yet another example of, in my opinion, Kash Patel failing to live up to the example of his predecessors.
This is not the kind of thing that any FBI director has ever done, McCabe said on CNN, where he is an analyst. FBI directors dont gratuitously point toward search warrants and the people who are targets of those warrants.

(2,685 posts)Presumption of innocence is not guaranteed in the US Constitution; however, through statutes + court decisions (such as the US Supreme Court case of Taylor v Kentucky) -- presumption of innocence has been recognized as one of the most basic requirements of a fair trial.
https://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/presumption_of_innocence
A presumption of innocence means that any defendant in a criminal trial is assumed to be innocent until they have been proven guilty. As such, a prosecutor is required to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the person committed the crime if that person is to be convicted. To do so, proof must be shown for every single element of a crime. That being said, a presumption of innocence does not guarantee that a person will remain free until their trial has concluded. In some circumstances, a person can be held in custody.

(13,856 posts)Keep shouting that canard from the rooftops. More than half the nation has always known the truth. And the reality is dawning on more and more of those who brought us here with their intentional blindness.
This is how 47 regime "law" works:
If 47 decides you are "on his side," no law will be enforced against you.
If 47 decides you are against him, they will break whatever laws they need to to exact retribution.
