Israel soon will halt or slow aid to northern Gaza as military offensive grows

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel will soon halt or slow humanitarian aid into parts of northern Gaza as it expands its military offensive against Hamas, an official said Saturday, a day after Gaza City was declared a combat zone.

The decision was likely to bring more condemnation of Israel’s government as frustration grows in the country and abroad over dire conditions for both Palestinians and remaining hostages in Gaza after nearly 23 months of war.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media, told The Associated Press that Israel will stop airdrops over Gaza City in the coming days and reduce the number of aid trucks arriving in the north as it prepares to evacuate hundreds of thousands of people south.

Israel on Friday ended recently imposed daytime pauses in fighting to allow aid delivery, describing Gaza City as a Hamas stronghold and alleging that a tunnel network remains in use, despite previous large-scale raids. The United Nations and partners have said the pauses, airdrops and other measures fell far short of the 600 trucks of aid needed daily in Gaza.

Its an offensive against the Palestinian people. Choices are--Die quickly by a bomb, or slowly starve to death. Its an abstract concept to most other people around the world.

At first, sure they had a legit reason to do some things after they were attacked but they never had a legit reason to bomb civilians

Affecting about 500,000 people out of the million or so sheltering there. Airdrops already stopped a few days ago. So the starving are told to leave their homes and walk many kilometres to the south, where there is NO SHELTER for them, no water. Probably no food either.

Anyone unable, unwilling or too weak or sick to get out will be considered "Hamas" and will no doubt be shot on sight.

Netanyahu et al are psychopathic fucking lunatics. Madmen. The IDF echelon are not much better. They must realize this is a genocidal ethnic cleansing operation and in violation of every known law of war and humanitarianism. But they've gone along with it since October 7th. As have all Western leaders who still haven't mustered up an ounce of courage or compassion for Palestinians. They're gonna let THIS happen too???!!

Maybe trump thinks green-lighting israel's genocide will make him a shoe-in for his much-coveted peace prize.
