Putin Keeps Violating Trump's 'Peace' Deadlines But Has Faced No Consequences

WASHINGTON – Thanks to President Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin keeps getting away with murder. Night after night, Putin’s military launches missiles and drones at Ukrainian cities, killing residents in their homes and shelters, repeatedly violating ersatz deadlines imposed by Trump to end the attacks — yet has faced none of the “severe consequences” Trump once promised.

Monday, Sept. 1, was the latest deadline to pass, initially set by Trump in July.

“We’re very, very unhappy with them and we’re going to be doing very severe tariffs if we don’t have a deal in 50 days, tariffs that are about 100%,” Trump said on July 14.

Tuesday, at a White House photo opportunity, Trump again made vague claims about a potential response. “We’re going to see what happens,” he told reporters in the Oval Office. “I had actually a very good meeting with President Putin. A couple of weeks ago, we’ll see if anything comes out of it. If it doesn’t, we’ll take a different stance.” He did not mention the missed 50-day deadline or his threat of “biting” economic sanctions.

9. Appeasement Doesn't Carry Consequences

From the appeaser. That is why Putin just ignores Trump and keeps on killing with impunity. Every delay granted by Trump plays into Putin's plan and prolongs the war.

Sure, Trump made an announcement of $300 million in arms upgrades, but what are those, actually. Trump is making available for sale to EU countries to purchase and have shipped to Ukraine. It is mostly software upgrades, etc. rather than long range missiles and other needed weapons. This is not very much bang for the buck. Indeed, it is just putting lipstick on the TACO pig.
