Trump says he doesn't know 'anything' about reported North Korea SEAL Team 6 mission
Source: ABC News
President Donald Trump said Friday he didn't know "anything" about what the New York Times reported was a classified 2019 SEAL Team 6 mission in North Korea in which unarmed North Korean civilians were killed during an aborted operation.
The Pentagon and U.S. Special Operations Command declined to comment to ABC News about The New York Times report.
ABC News has not confirmed the details in the report.

The account, citing "two dozen people, including civilian government officials, members of the first Trump administration and current and former military personnel with knowledge of the mission" who spoke to the Times anonymously, said Trump had approved the mission.

(3,588 posts)In this case, Cantaloupe Caligula the Corpulent is probably telling the truth. As far into dementia as he seems to be, he probably doesnt remember what he had for breakfast, much less something in 2019!😂

(49,678 posts)Anything getting good press is always because he made it happen. Anything getting bad press is, I dont know anything about it, Im just the president. You need to find whoevers really in charge.
I just threw the dementia hypothesis out there, not as a cop out or being a Caligula apologist, but as one possible explanation. Its almost impossible for me to give him the benefit of the doubt on anything.
Honestly though, I hope it is dementia. But before hes n longer with it (relatively speaking), I want his ass to have a massive stroke. I dont want it to kill him, I just want it to leave him in a state where he knows hes drooling, unable to speak, relies on someone to feed him, pissing and shitting himself in his adult diapers. Of course, those last two are probably not a real change from how he lives now.😂

(4,160 posts)An operation of this type requires a PDM -- Presidential Decision Memorandum. The President is briefed, in most cases several times, in detail about the operation -- purpose, who will do it, the risks, etc. He must then approve the operation by signing a PDM.
He would have to have signed a PDM. Of course, he likely does not remember, or, he is lying, or both.

(155 posts)violated American waters on a spy mission and murdered innocent civilians? The President, Congress and the news media would be outraged and demand retribution. But when we do it to another country, there is a collective yawn. Just another day of America doing whatever it wants in a world we believe we own.

(893 posts). . . are such amateur Machiavellis that I wouldn't doubt the operation was meant to eliminate an enemy of Kim Jung Un, perhaps someone feeding the CIA information. In fact I can well imagine it as some kind of keystone kops venture, an embarrassing screwup that likely played into Un's hands and that is why he hasn't made any kind of statement about it since it happened.
