AOC postpones rally over security fears after the assassination of Charlie Kirk

Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York is rescheduling a weekend rally in Raleigh, North Carolina, after the assassination of MAGA influencer Charlie Kirk.

Speaking with reporters Thursday, Ocasio-Cortez said due to safety concerns and out of respect for Kirk, she would move the Sunday event with the North Carolina Democratic Party.

“From the moment I was elected, I have felt that I accept a certain level of risk in doing this job,” Ocasio-Cortez told reporters outside of the Capitol.

“But it is about the fact that the security protocols and the ways we think about it and conceive of it are for a bygone time. They’re not designed for stochastic time.”

3. True, but still smart in fact I literally earlier today was thinking that I hope AOC beefs up her security

and doesn't get on any stages for awhile.

But who I also REALLY worry about is Kamala, given it was just recent news that she no longer has secret service protection.

I hate to run scared, feels like that's a win for their side, but these women need to be kept safe. Kamala should take a month vacation to somewhere undisclosed, and with strict gun laws. The Netherlands, maybe? Bali? St. Barts?

5. Probably a good idea. Even if the shooter is found to be a MAGA, it will be open season on Democrats.

They've been looking for a reason and now they think they've got it.
