The Justice Department prosecutor assigned to targeting President Donald Trump's foes is now apparently going after those who testified against Alex Jones in the Sandy Hook civil case.
Jones posted a letter on X in which Ed Martin, an associate deputy attorney general, contacts a law firm in Connecticut demanding all documents related to FBI Special Agent William Aldenberg. Aldenberg was among the first few law enforcement officials to enter the classroom at Sandy Hook Elementary School, where 20 children were shot and killed.
He was the first witness in the civil case involving right-wing podcaster Jones after he lied about the deaths of children and targeted their families.
"In that capacity, I am writing to request information from you regarding your client FBI Special Agent William Aldenberg and his role in certain litigation that may benefit him personally and that may impact our citizens and our legal system. As you may know, there are criminal laws protecting the citizens from actions by government employees who may be acting for personal benefit. I encourage you to review those," wrote Martin. Martin wanted to know if Aldenberg was paid and alleged he "led litigation and recruited other plaintiffs."

Not only is he mentally ill, he is depraved and totally evil.
This has to stop. Either elected officials from both parties have to say "Enough!" or we the people have to demand it.

Martin's decision to retract his letter came after an admonishment from the Justice Department's No. 2 official, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, a person familiar with the matter told ABC News. Blanche ordered Martin to rescind his letter to Mattei on Wednesday following growing backlash after Jones made it public on his X account Tuesday.
"Dear Sir," Martin said in the letter Wednesday to Christopher Mattei, the attorney for retired FBI agent William Aldenberg. "At this time, I write to inform you that there is no investigation of you or your client. Because of this, I hereby withdraw my request for information from you or your former client."
The reversal came a day after Jones posted a copy of the letter Martin had sent to Mattei requesting a series of responses about Aldenberg's involvement in the lawsuit that resulted in a $1.4 billion judgment against Jones.
I checked with Susan Bankston and this FBI agent was part of the Connecticut case and not the Texas case brought by Mark Bankston.
