Ford recalls more than 290,000 vehicles in US due to issue with rearview camera system

Ford is recalling more than 290,000 vehicles in the U.S. because the rearview camera system may not display images properly in certain lighting conditions, which could increase the risk of a crash.

The recall includes certain 2020-2022 F-250 SD, F-350 SD, and F-450 SD vehicles.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s safety recall report said that Ford reviewed customer complaint data and warranty information to understand customer occurrences. The automaker said that as of Sept. 20, it was aware of 10 reports, with the first report occurring on Jan. 20, 2022.

Ford is not aware of any reports of accident or injury related to this condition.

3. Does anybody under 35 know what a Thomas guide is, let alone

know how to use one?
On the other hand I hate adding apps to my phone and I don't do online banking or bill paying.

I like using checks and having cash in my pockets.

4. You can't "turn your head" if it's a service or box truck.

These are work trucks. Mirrors? Yes. But if you have a box or service body, backup cameras are way safer.

Yes, cameras make it safer but not impossible. A round mirror braced on the back of the box serves the same purpose for a fixed box.

I currently drive a single-axle and sometimes a straight truck in the city every day. Technology has evolved, and if I'm paying $100,000 for a work truck, I want the cameras to work.

If you're so set in the past, you should have written your post in a letter and mailed it to DU.

Totally missed the point, but you keep on being you.

Now, if I were to answer in kind, I might say, "I hope it doesn't rain where you are, because you'll have to wait for the Auto Club to come wipe the lense everytime you wanted to back up." But instead I will reiterate, yes it adds a bit of safety and even convenience. Yes, your vehicle should have working systems but the point is, it doesn't require a stop the world from rotating, National recall, just a notice. If it's not working, bring it on by, we'll fix it. They didn't even say it's not working but only has a problem if light hits the lens a certain way. So, it's maybe, an adjustment.
