Greene Says She's Receiving Threats as Trump Coins New Nickname Amid Feud

Amid an escalating feud inside the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement between President Donald Trump and one of his staunchest supporters, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, the president has given her a new nickname—Marjorie “Traitor” Greene.

The congresswoman wrote on X on Saturday that because of the president’s rhetoric and commentary about her, she has been receiving “a hot bed of threats” from people “being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world.”

Newsweek has reached out to Greene’s press team and the White House for comment via email on Saturday.

I see her trying to reinvent herself. She talks about coming together and being kind, etc., etc.

But I can do a search on YouTube and immediately find tons of instances where she was nasty and ugly to people, including Biden. But it went further. She was ugly and nasty to reporters who were just trying to do their jobs, among other people.

It's going to take a while for me to see her in any other light because the possibility that she's faking this is always going to be in my mind.

First, welcome to DU.

I watched the interview, and I must say, I really felt that MTG is quite fake. She has changed the way she speaks. Her voice is slower and softer and contrived. So I have great suspicions that will likely continue for a very, very long time.

If she is for real, in time, she will be able to convince me. But I'm not there yet.

You are absolutely right in that you can't cause the damage that she has caused and then expect to be taken for your word when you do a one-eighty!!

I do not want her to be harmed in any way, shape, form or fashion. She has every right to speak out and do what she's doing. I don't have to accept it, or like it. But that does not mean that I would enjoy seeing her harmed.

We've seen the MAGA mentality. Hell, half of the Trump followers couldn't tie their own damn shoe, much less try to figure out something themselves. When Trump uses the rhetoric that he uses against his perceived enemies, he is in essence, giving his followers a green light to do these things. It's disgusting.
