Greene: Republicans poke fun at Trump behind his back

Source: The Hill

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), a previously fervent supporter of President Trump, said that her fellow Republicans made fun of the president behind his back.

“I watched many of my colleagues go from making fun of him, making fun of how he talks — making fun of me, constantly, for supporting him — to, when he won the primary in 2024, they all started — excuse my language, Lesley, kissing his a– and decided to put on a MAGA hat for the first time,” Greene told CBS News’s Lesley Stahl on “60 Minutes” during an interview set to air Sunday night.

Greene has had a very public falling-out with Trump over the last several weeks. Last month, Greene announced that she is stepping back from Congress, stating she did not want to be a “battered wife” in the wake of her fallout with Trump, who unendorsed her and referred to her as a “traitor.”

Greene, in a lengthy statement, said she had “too much self respect and dignity, love my family way too much, and do not want my sweet district to have to endure a hurtful and hateful primary against me by the President we all fought for, only to fight and win my election while Republicans will likely lose the midterms.”

5. So rather than stand up for what is right, they all just act like 3rd graders, making fun of him in secret.

My biggest takeaway was that MTG is happy to pretend that Leslie Stahl asking her a question about her contribution to our toxic political environment is the SAME as Greene's contribution to that toxic political environment. She hasn't changed.

It's one of the few TV interviews I've seen where she seemed almost sane. I think someone is giving her media advice.

...in the portion of the interview that I mentioned. If she had been interviewed by someone like Margaret Brennan she might have completely lost her shit as well. That was a pretty softball interview by Stahl.

On edit: If someone is giving her media advice I would wonder why exactly. She claims that she is done with seeking public office. Why would she need media advice?
