EXCLUSIVE: Google Tells Advertisers It'll Bring Ads to Gemini in 2026
Source: Adweek
Google has told advertising clients in recent days that it plans to bring ads to its AI chatbot Gemini, according to agency buyers familiar with the conversations.
In separate calls with at least two advertising clients, Google reps indicated that ad placements in Gemini are targeted for a 2026 rollout, though details on formats, pricing, and testing remain unclear, according to one buyer, who spoke under condition of anonymity in order to discuss the meeting. This buyer said the plan is separate from advertisements in AI Mode, Googles AI-powered search experience launched in March.
Both buyers said Google had not shared prototypes or technical specifics about how the ads would appear in Gemini.

(7,283 posts)....there is so much "AI" out there and every vendor from every company telling all the C Suite people how much they can cut down their workforce if they buy into it...and they do. It's still not enough to recoup their investment.
I suspect other companies to follow fairly shortly.

(6,177 posts)Providing users of it information doesnt really help them profit. Their goal is to make the main focus of ChatGPT advertising. For example, if you ask ChatGPT for advice, itll give you advice in the form of an advertisement (eg you should go buy this thing!).
The information doesnt need to be accurate. It just needs to make them money. Also, the bias of their system is for sale, so, governments will want to dump a lot of money into investing in ChatGPT propaganda that can be output, or, for paying for censorship on the platform.
For example, ChatGPT can tell people that the 2020 election was stolen if they are paid enough money to do so.
