LONDON -- A car bomb killed a Russian general in Moscow early on Monday morning, the Investigative Committee of Russia said in a statement.
Lt. Gen. Fanil Sarvarov was the head of the operational Training Department of the General Staff of the Russian armed forces, the committee said. He was killed when "an explosive device installed under the bottom of a car was detonated on Yaseneva Street in Moscow."
A criminal case has been opened into the incident, the statement said. Among the theories being pursued is "related to the organization of the crime by the Ukrainian special services," the committee said................

and that is Putin. They missed with a bomb about 1/2 a year ago under one
of his cars. BTW this bomb might have been from Putin if he saw that General
Sarvarov wasnt on his team anymore.

(2,171 posts)They have been striking deep inside Russia, but with drones and missiles, and going after economic targets. It doesn't seem very likely they would have done an operation like this unless they thought it had a chance of killing Putin. I doubt Putin would ride in any car that had not been under very tight control of his protection force.
There is a lot of suffering in Russia now and a lot of unrest. There could be plenty of people wanting to hit Putin's inner circle hard. Or Putin could have a reason for filling the guy. Either way, Putin is in big trouble.
