President Donald Trump called the New York Times a serious threat to the national security of our nation during a late-night Truth Social post on Monday.
The Failing New York Times, and their lies and purposeful misrepresentations, is a serious threat to the National Security of our Nation, Trump wrote. Their Radical Left, Unhinged Behavior, writing FAKE Articles and Opinions in a never ending way, must be dealt with and stopped. THEY ARE A TRUE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE! Thank you for you [sic] attention to this matter. PRESIDENT DJT.
The president made the post just days after the New York Times published an explosive article on Trumps former relationship with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
In the article titled, Dons Best Friend: How Epstein and Trump Bonded Over the Pursuit of Women, the newspaper interviewed more than 30 former employees of Epstein, victims of the sex offenders abuse, and others who crossed paths with Mr. Epstein and President Trump. Beginning in the late 1980s, the two men forged a bond intense enough to leave others who knew them with the impression that they were each others closest friend, the Times reported, adding that Epstein was perhaps Trumps most reliable wingman.

(37,509 posts)Eventually this familiarity bred contempt between the narcissists. Epstein, being the smartest of the two, realized that Trump was the weakest link and his loose cannon behavior jeopardized the entire syndicate. He began to distance himself from Trump taking the influence and more importantly the money with him. Trump reacted in typical Trump style eventually obliterating Epstein and leaving the syndicate in tatters. The evidence in the files records that collapse.
Also, Comey is aware of all of this and that accounts for Trumps ceaseless effort to intimidate and silence him.

If anything, people need to come out in full force and push the issue on djt in full force and expose him for what he is. Why is he so afraid of this issue from seeing the light of day? Obviously, his name is all over them.
Justice matters.

(7,323 posts)...I suspect there is a law somewhere that gives the president authority to do something to address a "serious threat to the national security of our nation".
This is a pattern. He asserts a conclusion absent any support data (or reality) and then uses that as an unreviewable conclusion that enables him to drive a truck through legal loopholes that are intended to be used only in true exigent circumstance.
So...now that the Times is branded as a serious threat, what comes next for them ? CECOT for the editors and writers ?
