New ad attacks GOP over ACA enhanced subsidy lapse

Source: The Hill

Expect to see a lot more of these: a new digital ad from Democratic-aligned health advocacy group Protect Our Care is attacking frontline House Republicans for letting the Affordable Care Act’s enhanced subsidies expire.

The ad, shared first with The Hill, will launch Jan. 1 in the districts of key swing-district Republicans: David Schweikert (Ariz.), Juan Ciscomani (Ariz.), David Valadao (Calif.), Mariannette Miller-Meeks (Iowa), Tom Barrett (Mich), Mike Lawler (N.Y.), Rob Bresnahan (Pa.), Scott Perry (Pa.), Derrick Van Orden (Wis.), and Ryan Mackenzie (Pa.).

The campaign is part of the $10 million budget on health care accountability the group has spent this year.

“Are your health insurance premiums going up? Is it a happy new year? Republicans in Congress just took away tax credits for your health care costs as of January 1 — raising premiums 114 percent,” a voiceover in the ad says. “Tell them what you think.”
