Anti-ICE demonstrators chase off outnumbered far-right activists at Minneapolis rally

Source: Reuters

January 17, 2026 8:02 PM EST Updated 9 hours ago

MINNEAPOLIS, Jan 17 (Reuters) - Hundreds of anti-ICE protesters in Minneapolis chased off a small group of far-right activists who had vowed to march on a neighborhood where many immigrants live on Saturday, stoking tensions in a city on edge after the killing of Renee Good by a federal immigration agent 10 days ago.

Waving signs and screaming chants that called for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol agents to leave Minneapolis, the anti-ICE protesters gathered downtown near City Hall.

Scores of them moved forward, forcing about 10 far-right demonstrators against the outside of the municipal government center within minutes. Some in the crowd tossed water balloons that soaked the right-wing demonstrators as temperatures hit -4 degrees Fahrenheit (-20 Celsius) with the wind chill.

Police maintained their distance as the dueling protests played out. About an hour after the rallies began, the tiny contingent of right-wing activists quickly walked a few blocks away to a hotel, hounded by hundreds of anti-ICE protesters who screamed obscenities and told them to get out of the city. A few scuffles broke out, but Reuters did not observe any serious violence.

Lange was chased through a hotel, then a bar, and back out onto a street. You could see the blood running down the back of his head onto his neck when he was spotted again on the streets.

The protesters ripped off his army green flak-vest that had a label infidel on it. They took the Quran he was going to burn and we could see people removing the strips of bacon lining the pages.

When he got to a car that opened the back door for him, he was kicked and punched as he sat in the back with the door open, then the car drove off through the crowd with the door still open. Later, he posted that he was at the hospital getting stitches on his head.

There was a group of protesters that followed a couple nazis which dwindled to one. He was on his way to his car in a ramp, as it turns out. He was bleeding a lot. His neck was covered in blood, maybe the water balloons added to the drama of it. One protester yelled out, "Hey nazis, do you want a Band-Aid!"

There was another in the car driving that took off in the ramp. They hit a protester with their car on the way. Status of that person unknown.

Status Coup News was right there for all of this, live recording. They did not catch the recording of Lange being assaulted in the back seat of the car he got into though, that was a different location. That video was posted to a TV news report.

Yes, there was violence against the nazis. Mpls had zero tolerance for what they were serving up.
He maybe got a small taste of what he inflicted at the capital on J6. He was one of the criminal thugs pardoned.

WATER BALLOONS BRILLIENT IDEA

Lets keep this going.

How about Every Protester defend themselves with water Balloons

How about every household on every street, haul out their garden hose and spray water on the ICE.

It is NON-VIOLENT, It is "non-harmful" and it will give a chilly reception to the ICE.

Everyone Everywhere should use water balloons and water hoses against ICE.

Be sure to Scream "REMEMBER YOUR BAPTISM!!" That make it a Religious Observance and ritual.

would pour water onto the street that the ICE vehicles had to drive on. It of course turned into ice immediately in the cold.

That line jumped right out at me. Did City
Hall give orders to defend the anti ICE protesters? As city residents, are they taking it upon themselves?
I'm impressed with the solidarity.
