Noem defends Minnesota ICE operations, says judge's order "didn't change anything"

Source: CBS News

January 18, 2026 / 12:02 PM EST

Washington — Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem defended the Trump administration's ongoing immigration operations in Minnesota on Sunday, while saying that a federal judge's order limiting the tactics federal agents can use "didn't change anything."

"These law enforcement officers are out there every day doing the work to protect the American people, and they will keep doing that because they believe in enforcing the law, which is exactly what President Trump has charged them with," Noem said on "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan."

A federal judge on Friday blocked federal law enforcement from using pepper spray or nonlethal munitions on peaceful protesters as demonstrations continue. The judge also barred federal agents from stopping or detaining drivers and passengers when there is "no reasonable articulable suspicion" that people driving near protests are forcibly interfering with law enforcement operations.

On Sunday, Noem called the order "a little ridiculous." "We only use those chemical agents when there's violence happening and perpetuating and you need to be able to establish law and order to keep people safe," Noem said. "So that judge's order didn't change anything for how we're operating on the ground, because it's basically telling us to do what we've already been doing."

She s committing so many crimes in the year she has had her blood soaked fingers on the levers of power at DHS. Her conduct is despicable at every level. There is a special seat for her in Hell when all is said and done.

ASAP. Unfortunately whether it is her , her thugs, DOJ lawyers (looking at you Blanche), or anyone else, it will be at least 4 to 5 years before that happens.

May the states be gathering all the evidence they can so that on January 21, 2029 they can at least begin the indictments.

That they are not responsible for the outcomes of their evil. That fundamentally affects their insight and their ability to predict failure. It's a built in boobytrap.

Unfortunately, the damage that they do is so pervasive and difficult to mitigate (because so many are easily conned by them) that the damage is already done before they blow their cover. Or have their evil games stopped by drastic measures.

Prevalence in the United States

Psychopathy is a very common
mental disorder. It is twice as
common as schizophrenia,
anorexia, and bipolar disorder.
It is equally common as bulimia,
panic disorder, and autism.
The only mental disorders
significantly more common than
psychopathy are substance abuse
or dependence, depression, and
post-traumatic stress disorder.

Estimates of the prevalence
of psychopathy vary depending
on the measure used to assess
it, and on the population being
assessed. Because psychopathy
is a spectrum disorder,
prevalence estimates also
vary depending on the “cutoff”
that researchers use.

Approximately 70% of the
population is estimated to
have no psychopathic traits
whatsoever. The remaining
30% have low, medium, or
high levels of psychopathy

There is no medical screening
test for psychopathy. It cannot
be assessed using a brain scan,
blood test, genetic test, or other
medical test.

Psychopathy affects all
ethnic, cultural, racial,
and socioeconomic groups.

Economic and community costs of psychopathy

Although not all people with psychopathy are violent, those affected by high levels of psychopathy are at least 2X as likely to engage in serious violence
and criminal behavior as a typical person.

People with psychopathy are responsible for 30% to 40% of all violent crime in the United States.

Psychopathy increases the risk of violence in forensic, psychiatric, community, collegiate, and youth populations.

Children and teens with psychopathy are over 4X as likely to use a gun during a crime as other children.

Among offenders, those with psychopathy are more than 5X as likely to re-offend as those without psychopathy.

The cost of psychopathy to the criminal justice system approaches $460 billion every year.

This estimate makes psychopathy the most expensive mental health disorder in existence.

For every $1 invested in effective treatments for psychopathic children and adolescents, an estimated $7.18 is saved.

14. The Rise of Narcissists, Sociopaths, and Psychopaths to Positions of Power: A Global Challenge
Sun Jan 18, 2026, 02:50 PM
Sunday
...
Research shows that narcissistic individuals possess traits that make them particularly adept at climbing the ranks of corporate and political power. Studies published in Personality and Social Psychology Review highlight that traits like grandiosity, entitlement, and lack of empathy often help narcissists excel in competitive environments where self-promotion and ruthlessness can be mistaken for leadership. Sociopaths and psychopaths, with their ability to manipulate and immunity to guilt, also leverage these traits to secure power and wealth.

These individuals see others as stepping stones to their success. They are experts at gaslighting, convincing people that their exploitative actions somehow benefit society. Their charm and confidence often make them appear capable—even when their true intentions are entirely self-serving. Along the way, they exploit those around them, stealing ideas, leveraging contacts for personal gain, shorting workers on pay, or outright refusing to pay what they owe. Once they amass enough wealth and power, they hire legal teams to intimidate opponents and exploit loopholes, further consolidating their advantage. They then use these resources to rewrite the rules, fund propaganda campaigns, and distort reality to protect their interests.

ICE Barbie contradicted herself so many times that none of what she said made any sense. It was all scrambled talking points bullsh¡t.

Very disturbing. She seems less and less attached to reality.

If she doesn't have a meth (or some similar substance) habit, I will be extremely surprised.

She acts jacked up and that thigh gap is way too prominent for her weight loss to be non pathological.

Never forget that white supremacists love crystal meth. It's a cash flow source for many of their organizations.

Sun Jan 18, 2026, 03:05 PM

I heard in an interview once that by definition, corporations are sociopaths.

As corporations are “people” (see Citizens United) and are completely self-serving despite the impact of their choices or behavior on anyone or anything around them, that seems on the mark.

Do you have any thoughts on that?

I am more focused on identifying pathological individuals within a group. So I didn't give it any additional thought other than taking note of the concept.

I suppose that the argument could be made. But I don't see the benefit in it myself.

I hope that makes sense.

Sun Jan 18, 2026, 04:03 PM

That's "using chemical weapons" and she laughed when Margaret mentioned the court order and added that they wouldn't be changing anything that they were doing. She also seemed to suggest that they were using chemical weapons. She said that they were being used for "crowd control" (aka victim blaming, imo.) Then she said again they wouldn't be changing anything that they are doing.

But it is a remarkably scrambled series of responses. The biggest concentration of deflecting and denying in one brief timespan that I think that I've ever seen and I've analyzed lots of conversations.

I also may have misunderstood things just because the gaslighting was so thick it was like peanut butter. I suggest watching it, if you're able. I really want to see a verified transcript.

It's extremely disturbing that she's in charge. She really needs to be removed. If it's possible to do such, it would at least be a start. It might even begin the snowball downhill that could create the avalanche that we need.
