DOJ plans to subpoena Minnesota attorney general, sources say, as tensions flare over immigration enforcement surge

Updated 12:26 PM EST, Tue January 20, 2026

Where things stand now
• The Justice Department plans to subpoena Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison related to an investigation of possible obstruction of federal officers during recent protests, two sources said. The governor and Minneapolis’ mayor, also Democrats, are expected to get subpoenas, too, as the Trump administration’s turbocharged, coast-to-coast immigration enforcement crackdown targets the state.

• DOJ appealed a judge’s ruling that federal agents in Minnesota can’t arrest or use pepper spray on peaceful protesters or stop people in their cars without cause.

• DOJ launched a separate investigation after demonstrators interrupted Sunday service at a church where an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent reportedly preaches.

• Critics are denouncing DOJ’s handling of the fatal shooting this month of protester Renee Good in Minneapolis. While the FBI briefly opened a civil rights investigation into the ICE agent who shot Good, the probe pivoted to investigating Good and those around her, including her widow.

It is time for you to start arresting ICE Gestapo agents for abduction, assault, deprivation of civil rights under color of law, plus any other vehicular misdemeanors you happen across, perhaps malicious mopery with intent to disrupt the peace.

Many of these assholes have criminal records, which you will turn up when you arrest them! I am willing to bet some of them have outstanding warrants.

Fight BACK, goddamn it!
