The Trump administration has ordered Cabinet agencies to review federal funding for a group of Democratic-controlled states, according to a White House budget official, as the administration looks to cut off resources for sanctuary jurisdictions that refuse to collaborate with immigration enforcement authorities.
The White House Office of Management and Budget ordered all federal agencies except the Defense and Veterans Affairs departments to report every grant, loan, contract, subcontract and other monetary awards to a group of 13 states and Washington, D.C.
We are moving forward with taking fraud seriously, said an OMB spokesperson, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal proceedings.
President Donald Trump declared in a speech last week that as of Feb. 1, the federal government would stop making any payments to sanctuary cities, or states having sanctuary cities, because they do everything possible to protect criminals at the expense of American citizens.

He is freaking out and flailing with Jack Smith testifying today. The courts have been smacking down these bogus "sanctuary city" misrepresentations since the original February 2025 lawsuit (including a status update of that one yesterday).

(18,274 posts)like thousands of times before over the last 45+ years, as far as I am concerned.....
There are a few, but very few who yell out..........
If you wait for Colorado's U.S. Senators, or Denver's U.S. House member to say ANYTHING, you will wait forever.
Hickenlooper/Bennett/DeGette........
We suddenly, out of nowhere, started hearing a few things out of Bennett.......but only because he is talking about his run for Colorado Governor next year.........thank goodness we are losing our current DINO Governor, Polis, who is term limited, but Bennett will just continue as a milk toast, status quo lover if voted in as Governor.
We are facing all kind of nightmares in Colorado and Denver, even without Trump's CABAL taking aim on Blue City's and States...
We need an intelligent, strong leader, not Bennett, and I hope some one steps up to the plate this next election.....

(18,274 posts)we lose election after election because of the messaging. We are better and more qualified to lead but we can't sell ourselves. We sit quietly on the sidelines during these awful times.
