Trump confirms he will not attend Super Bowl because of music acts: 'I'm anti-them'
Source: The Independent

President Donald Trump said he will skip this years Super Bowl, using the decision to sharply criticize the NFLs choice of entertainers, opening act Green Day and halftime performer Bad Bunny, both of whom have publicly opposed the presidents agenda.
In an Oval Office interview with the New York Post published Saturday, Trump, 79, called the lineup a terrible choice for the February showdown in San Francisco.
Im anti-them. I think its a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible, Trump said.
Trump added, however, that the performers themselves are not the reason he plans to skip the game, citing travel concerns instead. Its just too far away. I would. Ive gotten great hands for the Super Bowl, they like me, Trump said. I would go if, you know, it was a little bit shorter.

(2,484 posts)A) The POTUS thinks California is too far away, and can't manage an itinerary that makes productive stops along the way.
B) The POTUS thinks the purpose of the Super Bowl is for the glorification of the President.
C) This person thinks people will cheer him, and if they won't, then he isn't going.
D) This person thinks that the President should choose the entertainment for the halftime show. This ain't the Kennedy Center.
E) It may not be abnormal for racist Trump to be anti-Bad Bunny, and his fondest dream is probably for ICE agents to storm the field and take out "that 'illegal' from socialist Puerto Rico". But what is his problem with Green Day, who are "real Americans"?

As far as the Super Bowl goes, Trump would get booed mercilessly. And he had made it clear he didn't like Bad Bunny. I don't know Green Day's politics or their music, but I kind of wish it was the Dropkick Murphys. Maybe next year.

Most, if not all, of the NFL owners are publicly Trump supporters.
Trump tried a few times to become a NFL owner but failed.
Trump owned the USFL New Jersey Generals in the 1980s.
USFL had some success until some of the owners, led by Trump, decided to compete in the fall with the NFL.
The USFL had to fold but sued the NFL for antitrust.
Some felt the move was an attempt to force a merger between the two leagues.
The NFL attorney decided he need a villain and of course picked Trump.
Trump's testimony on the stand contradicted on several points the NFL commissioner at the time, Pete Rozelle.
The USFL won their case but were only awarded $3 in effective damages.
NFL is a club Trump wished he was a member.

I am not sure if this is in Rick Wilson's book; but another of the long list of cases of everything Trump touches dies.
