MILAN (AP) — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents will have a security role during the upcoming Milan Cortina Winter Games, according to information shared with local media by sources at the U.S. Embassy in Rome. The Associated Press independently confirmed the information with two officials at the embassy.

The officials who confirmed ICE participation on Tuesday said that federal ICE agents would support diplomatic security details and would not run any immigration enforcement operations.

During previous Olympics, several federal agencies have supported security for U.S. diplomats, including the investigative component of ICE called Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the officials said. They could not be named because they are not authorized to speak publicly.

HSI has a global footprint, and it’s common for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to provide security support at major international events.

Good to know that US Immigration and Customs Enforcement dipshits will not be running their immigration enforcement operations in Lombardy.

If they tried their usual bullshit in Milano they might end up in the Piazzale Loreto.

It would be a complete coincidence if anyone in ICE had the relevant training - especially for providing personal security abroad, when tact and good knowledge of local laws and customs are needed. Plus the ability to work with people who are not in your cult, rather than, you know, arresting, terrorizing, beating up, rendering to secret camps and murdering them.

Quindi decisamente male”.

"As an Italian, before even as a citizen of Milano, I don't feel protected by Piantedosi, who says that even if [ICE agents] were to come [to the Olympics], what's the problem with that? This is a paramilitary that has killed people," said the mayor of Milano, Giuseppe Sala, live to RtI 102.5. "And it's a paramilitary that has entered people's houses without permission, and it's clear that they are not welcome in Milano," added the mayor. "I wonder, will we be able to say No to Trump for once? The ICE agents should not come to Italy because they are not aligned with our democratic means of guaranteeing security."

"We still have time, and I ask the government to rethink this," asked the mayor, specifying that "from what seems to have come out, Piantedosi didn't even know about it himself; it seems that the media helped the minister even understand that ICE was coming. So it's definitely bad."
