FOX40.COM) Rob Bonta is teaming up with San Franciscos top attorney to sue two ghost gun companies that distribute blueprints for untraceable weapons.
The California attorney general and San Francisco City Attorney David Chiu announced a lawsuit Friday against Gatalog Foundation Inc. and CTRLPew LLC. The two Florida-based companies allegedly offer computer code used to 3D print ghost guns, illegal large-capacity magazines, machine gun conversion devices like Glock switches and other products.
The lawsuit, filed in the San Francisco Superior Court, also aims to hold the companies accountable for promoting and facilitating the unlawful manufacture of 3D printed firearms, Bontas office said. The two companies could not be reached for comment.
These defendants conduct enables unlicensed people who are too young or too dangerous to pass firearm background checks to illegally print deadly weapons without a background check and without a trace, Bonta said in a news release. This lawsuit underscores just how dangerous the ghost gun industry is and how much harm its skip-the-background-check business model has done to Californias communities.
