Orly Taitz Celebrates As Birther Case Is Referred To High Court

Source: Huffington Post

Birther queen Orly Taitz is celebrating a routine U.S. Supreme Court decision to refer her petition, which asks the court to overturn President Barack Obama's election, to a February conference of the justices.

Taitz posted on her website Wednesday afternoon that the Supreme Court will discuss a case she filed on behalf of three minor presidential candidates -- including a federal prison inmate -- at their conference Feb. 15. The court's website confirms that Taitz's case, which she submitted to Chief Justice John Roberts' office last month, has been placed on the Feb. 15 conference agenda and has been distributed to the nine justices for consideration.

The roughly 10,000 petitions that the court receives annually are referred to the regular conference meetings for discussion, then around 100 are picked by the justices for oral arguments and a final decision. The votes of four justices in the conference are needed to schedule arguments. The scheduling comes a week after another birther activist suggested impeaching Roberts if he attempted to swear-in Obama later this month.

The long odds have not deterred Taitz, a lawyer, dentist and real estate agent in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., from celebrating Wednesday's decision. Taitz filed the case on behalf of Edward Noonan, who won the American Independent Party presidential primary in California, Thomas Gregory MacLeran, who ran for the Republican presidential nomination, and Keith Judd, who challenged Obama in the Democratic primary. Judd, who is currently in federal prison, received 41 percent of the vote against Obama in the West Virginia primary. Taitz has said that if Obama was disqualified from the ballot Judd would have been the Democratic presidential nominee based on his West Virginia votes.

but in all honesty, I think that perhaps she has violated portions of her pledge of allegiance and how is it that a recently minted citizen - not a natural born citizen - is the poster child for bigotry and making such claims about a natural born citizen and the rightfully elected sitting president at that and not be placed in such an inquiry herself? One of the first big red flags to pop up on my mind. Someone is paying her for this as she certainly can't be practicing as dentist or have any other legal clients while she is on this multi-year campaign to discredit the will of the American People. Isn't there some legal mechanism for dealing with sirens like her? I think that turning the focus on her legitimacy as a citizen might be in order. As a natural born citizen and active voter, I find her and her actions highly offensive and I question her legitimacy as a naturalized citizen, where are her papers?

The Fact that we are talking about what I believe is a miscarriage of justice, allowing this woman to continue to tie up court time and money is the travesty. She only responds when her name is in the press, she knows she will never win, and on the last day of the Obama presidency, she will still be attempting to smear his name. Her time will pass into the annual of idiotic political theater.

fitting if they just keep letting it settle to the bottom of the stack every time it gets up in the top forty until they have their set number of cases they will hear. Perhaps they'll recommend some kind of censure and ban her from attempting to practice law in this country or disbar her for wasting the people's time and money with frivolous claims, make her repay the all court costs and fine her on top of that.

but I'm pretty sure the Supremes don't have the authority to disbar her - that has to come from the state she's admitted in (CA). I'm thinking they could keep her from arguing cases in federal court.

I'm all for whatever it takes to get her out of the range of any megaphone/microphone that might give her the opportunity to continue her hate trip in public and gain support from anywhere.

She's an embarrassment to herself and a free-thinking society (or anyone capable of independent cognition).

You're probably right. But I think there would be widespread support for such action and that would be the end of her access to microphones or at least folks who would actually listen to her that could do anything about it.

Is how the media has given her so much publicity to air her B.S., while when someone with impeccable credentials like Vincent Bugliosi wanted to talk about his book on the ACTUAL theft of the White House by W and his daddy's cronies on the Supreme Court, he was virtually locked out. I find that troubling.
