Gun Training Company Declines To Respond To CEO’s ‘Killing’ Comments

An employee with Tactical Response, the Tennessee firearms training company making headlines this week thanks to a video posted by CEO James Yeager, told TPM Thursday the company is going to leave it up to Yeager to respond to questions about the clip.
Yeager posted a video online where he said "I'm gonna start killing people" if the White House goes ahead with plans to use executive orders to further its gun violence prevention goals. He later deleted the video. Yeager's comments come in the midst of amped-up conservative rhetoric over the executive order plan that so far have included comparisons between President Obama and Hitler and warnings that Obama is planning to run the country like "dictatorship."
Reached Thursday, an employee at Tactical Response told TPM the company would not be issuing a separate response to the video. "We're going to let him handle all that," the employee said.
TPM left Yeager a message asking for a response to the controversy the video has caused.

It seems these clowns have a problem with tighter regulation on assault rifles? If you are not doing anything wrong then don't worry about it, right?
And whats this "dictator" bit? I am sure he was perfectly content when Bush and Cheney were wiping their ass with the American flag

(5,842 posts)Well, if you aren't doing anything wrong you don't have anything to worry about.
I 'd love to see the media posit that to the survivalist loons screaming about background checks. While I am dreaming, I'd also like a pony.

Making terroristic threats is a serious crime.

IMHO Yeager is the Poster Child for Todays GOP and its supporters.
Yeager will only get a good talking to at most.
Now if a person of color did and said the exact same thing, they would have been arrested within hours if not minutes of posting it and would be doing hte perpwalk on the 6 o'clock news that very night.

Maybe if some of these guys had a chance to hear themselves and shame themselves a little ..... at any rate this guy needs a serious going over of his arsenal by ATF because of his own words on video he posted himself online.

The poster said that mental health evaluations should be required for all gun owners and prospective owners. I may or may not agree with that sentiment, but your effort at tongue-lashing comes off as pedantic and and insubstantial.
So that you know, I believe that people with a history of severe psychiatric disorders should not be licensed to possess firearms.

(10,039 posts)I am also safe with guns. You're broad brush stroking here. And claiming that EVERYONE with ANY sort of mental illness is a danger to society is pure bullshit. That's a load of bigoted crap.
MyNameGoesHere
(7,638 posts)You have admitted to having a mental illness, now I think the next step is to have that information registered. We let people drive that pass an eye test, we don't let blind people drive. Are you suggesting that is bigotry? I think it is a safety of the public issue. I have statistics on my side, mass shootings are committed by persons with mental illness overwhelmingly. Want a gun? Then get tested, get registered, and be prepared to be monitored. Your mental illness, while not your fault, does not trump public safety.
Neoma
(10,039 posts)With mental illness it's purely a case by case basis. Not, "well I know this person with this illness, thus everyone with that illness must be like that person." Exactly which mental illness are you talking about anyways? A lot of people cope with their illnesses better than others. Or it's so minor that it's hardly worth mentioning.
The mentally ill are only as likely to be violent as the rest of the population. Violence by itself is not a mental illness, and isn't considered to be one, not one bit. But people like to be influenced by movies and the media, which overhypes mental health issues to death.
