Rep. Tom Kean (R-NJ) has now been absent from Congress for weeks due to an unspecified medical issue, with at least another week to go, reported the New Jersey Globe on Monday, and there's no explanation forthcoming from his office.
"Kean has been absent from Congress for more than a month, and little information has been provided about whats ailing him or when hes expected to return," reported Joey Fox. "He last cast a vote on March 5, and has missed 37 roll-call votes beginning on March 16; after his first week of missed votes ...
The congressman has also not made any in-person appearances recently, and photos posted in the last few weeks to his social media account appear to have been taken prior to the start of his medical issue." "His office remains active, introducing legislation and penning letters to Trump administration officials, but Keans day-to-day involvement in its work is unknown," noted the report.
Last week, spokesperson Harrison Nealy put forth a statement that Kean is expected to be totally fine and that he will be back to a full schedule soon. That statement, however, still didn't provide any details about exact timelines, or what specifically is wrong with the congressman.

(43,300 posts)When I was at the teachers convention over the weekend, we heard from the many candidates who are challenging him.
You will not find a more impressive group of people. There were numerous candidates who had served in the Biden administration.
Citizens are disgusted and tired of Keans routine, which mostly consists of ignoring the voting public. Nobody wants to hear Trump letters (see OP).
Buh bye, Kean. Your days of riding daddys coattails are over.

(3,810 posts)I spent my adolescence in northern NJ.
My memory may be warped - it was a long time ago - but he didn't strike me as a far-right extremist when he was governor. I wouldn't have called him a moderate, but he at least came across as rational. I haven't followed him in the House, so I have no idea what he's been like in recent years.

By the way I'll be attending the 12th district Democratic congressional debate at Rider University this weekend.
We have a plethora of exciting candidates and I can only choose one.

I am familiar with Sam Wang as a scientist, and as a political activist, but I don't know the others. This doesn't mean I'll support Wang, nor does it mean I won't.
