'The President Knows Who He Is': Stephen Miller Reportedly Sidelined by Trump Admin

White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller is reportedly far less influential now than he was at the outset of President Donald Trumps second term.
According to The Atlantics Michael Scherer and Nick Miroff, Trump has also told others in recent weeks that he understands Miller sometimes goes too far. Millers power began to wane when Trump recognized immediately after the second killing in Minneapolis, of the protester Alex Pretti, that the policy needed to shift. Miller, on the other hand, referred to Pretti as a domestic terrorist in the immediate aftermath of his death.
Recent months have seen Trump backpedal away from numerous policies advocated by Miller, including a plan to cut the number of visas for seasonal workers by 50%, after consulting with border czar Tom Homan. The new secretary is listening to Tom Homan and Rodney Scott before he is ever listening to Stephen Miller, one senior administration official told Scherer and Miroff.
A former official declared, The president knows who he is, period.

Thanks

(3,054 posts)A) It isn't sincere
B) it is only a political calculation and window dressing, rather than some fundamental change in attitude or policy
C) It probably isn't even true at all.

Miller didn't go too far at all.
He just wanted to go too far too fast.

He's so far gone, I thought him putting his face and name on everything was the only way he could remember.

(1,630 posts)Miller (and others) have moved en masse into military housing. Its a gated community, and its rent free.
Miller moved out of Arlington, and moved into military housing because he felt threatened by sidewalk chalk messages left by activists

(4,657 posts)... and those around Trump know exactly what Miller is: A seething furnace of malice consumed by the mindless desire to destroy anything and everything good about this country. And it's not nice to upstage President Psychopants. If he's not the center of attention every minute of every day, heads are gonna roll, and Nosferatu's noggin is on the chopping block. But few, if any, will mourn his passing. Word on the street is, Miller is universally despised by everyone, and I mean, EVERYONE!

(4,638 posts)You hit the nail on the head. Miller is often referred to as pres miller, and he has upstaged t more than once. Can't have that, so out you go!

(1,243 posts)He's at least as dangerous if not more so than Stephen Miller. They are both hate-filled turds that need to be flushed.

Hes obviously starting to have health problems. That has an impact, no matter how you slice it.
But what hes done to our precious country, our laws and conventions, our privacy (especially for women), how we live our lives, AND whatever futures we might hope to have for ourselves and our families
ALL of what hes done is absolutely abominable, and even SINFUL.

(13,642 posts)Miller continues to be on the Felons good side, and it sounds like he has plenty of other evil schemes festering. IQ47 has a better nose for PR, though, and knows the appearance of Full Psycho cruelty turns off some of his voters. Hopefully, its too late for a pivot to make much of a difference fingers crossed that his tanking poll numbers will translate to Dem midterm victories.
