KEY POINTS
* The U.S. Postal Service proposed new mail-in ballot rules that would require states to submit voter names, addresses and unique ballot barcodes for federal elections.
* The proposal would set mandatory "best practices" for federal elections including Election Mail logos, tracking barcodes and design reviews.
* The rule follows President Donald Trump's March elections-related executive order and comes one day after a federal judge declined to immediately block the order's mail-voting provision.

The U.S. Postal Service proposed new rules Friday that would require states to provide voter-level data on mail-in ballots in federal elections, one day after a federal judge declined to immediately block President Donald Trump's executive order tightening mail-in voting rules.
The proposal would require states to submit to the Postal Service the names and addresses of voters receiving mail-in or absentee ballots, along with unique barcodes tied to each voter's outbound and return ballot envelopes.
USPS said the rule would help determine how many ballots were mailed and allow officials to compare that figure with the number of ballots returned to detect potential issues for further investigation.
The rule would apply to general, special and runoff federal elections, but not primaries or ballots sent to military and overseas voters.

(4,079 posts)AND a faceless bureaucracy to blame the problems on when Democrats (and others determined via AI scouring our personal info, social media, etc) don't receive their requested mail-in ballots. OOOPS, it wasn't TRUMP ordering that you don't get your ballot, the POST OFFICE must've just messed up
I believe the master plan here is to obstruct Democrats (specifically) from receiving mail-in ballots, via Federal (i.e. Trumps) intervention.
Also, THIS?
Is FUCKING BULLSHIT. All of that is already (since LONG AGO) audited, by ELECTION OFFICIALS, and in bipartisan fashion.

(13,995 posts)... guaranteed way to suppress the votes of younger more mobile people in favor of those collecting social security (for which SSA is more likely to have accurate information).
The judge that failed to block so a blatant voter suppression tactic right out of the gate is either an idiot or corrupt.

(7,326 posts).... that there was not yet any substantive action to implement the executive order. This may provide a basis to get that determination overturned.

(457 posts)They know how many are returned and who did not return their ballot. There is no purpose except to increase the cost of voting and to add another layer of bullshit.

AND!!! Fabulous protection from assault by LIBS.
Safe and secure from them, protected by iron bars.

His entire family can join him there.
But if he wants a golf course, he'll have to pay for it on his own nickel (or $250 bill)

(11,453 posts)Which is still ~30 million people, give or take afre million. California, like the other West Coast states, mails ballots to all registered voters, and people can still register at the voting centers on election day

(4,587 posts)accomplish delivery, and if so, wouldn't this "inclusion" require Congressional approval for the USPS to be involved in directing mailing rather than simply a delivery service????? nt

(371 posts)What if they flagged all mail-in ballots by those voters on lists as registered Democrats? Trump's lackeys in charge of the Post Office would become the sole arbiters of which ballots are referred for "further investigation." This would easily be done to tip the scales in favor of Republicans. This proposal paves the way for institutionalized voter disenfranchisement with little accountability. I don't think the Postal Service has a legal right to police elections in this manner.

(22,235 posts)know who they send the ballots to and that is enough.
They want a back door for federal interference in elections.

(42,585 posts)How could the federal government get the correct ballots mailed to the correct voters?
IT CAN'T and it won't. The entire idea is a disaster and it cannot be allowed. It can't even be attempted.
I know my Governor Josh Shapiro will fight this to the end. I'm sure every other sensible, intelligent Governor (D and R) will do the same.

Then, we can be scanned every time we vote.
The federal government doesn't run elections. As much as the regime's lackeys would like them to.
