Graham 'concerned' that Iran views deal with U.S. differently than Trump administration

Source: The Hill

Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham (S.C.) said Sunday that he is “concerned” that the U.S. and Iranian governments have “different” views of the deal that the two sides have agreed to.

“I am pleased to hear the memorandum of understanding with Iran to allow the Strait of Hormuz to open has been agreed to. I will be watching closely the ensuing negotiations regarding Iran’s nuclear program and other matters,” Graham, an Iran hawk, wrote on social platform X.

“I am somewhat concerned that Iran’s view of the agreement seems different than what the American negotiating team is claiming,” the South Carolina Republican added.

President Trump announced the deal earlier Sunday afternoon, signaling a potential end to a three-and-a-half-month conflict with the Islamic Republic.

2 peace agreements -

1 agreement that Iran signs and a separate agreement that Krasnov signs, then after 60 days the 2 agreements need to be reconciled.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

2 countries have already signed agreements with Iran to pay tolls to travel through Hormuz. Will those agreements be nullified?

In the meantime the price of crude and gasoline drops to make Magats happy on the 4th of July.

It"s basically a "Memorandum of Understanding" of next steps that are stipulated to happen over the next 2 months while they continue to negotiate, where during that time, hostilities will temporarily cease and Hormuz will purportedly reopen.

It does state that hostilities are “permanently” ended. This, of course, is a question begging term. If the ongoing negotiations do not go well or end with and actual agreement I can very easily see hostilities resuming. Since the MOU covers Lebanon as well we have to count on Bibi honoring that. Since Bibi’s motives are not arbitrarily aligned with our’s this may upset the AppleCare as well.

and a lot of bombing can happen between now and then, and the Houthis (who claim to control access to the Red Sea via the Gulf of Aden and who have made threats to escalate) have not even been mentioned yet.

The whole thing has degenerated into a running con.

Any “deal” reached will undoubtedly contain a trap for subsequent administrations or Democratic majorities similar to what was arranged with the Taliban in Afghanistan. Whatever it is, it will only benefit Trump’s indulging self interests.

and what about the high cost of living?

Just not about the gas prices which honestly I don’t see it go down much if any.

We are in the Twilight Zone.

He criticized Trump over the J6 events and then groveled back into Trump’s orbit. Personally, I will watch his actions and ignore his words.

Well bully for you.

Maybe you should have grown a pair four months ago and told Trump NO WAR ON IRAN. But that would have required you to take a stand and we all know that won’t happen.

Graham is in favor of the war, and would probably applaud ground troops in Iran or nuking them. If he had "grown a pair" and taken a stand -- based on what he truly believes -- he'd be lambasting Trump for capitulating to Iran and just walking away from the whole mess he created.
