Seven Trump State Fair Attendees Required Advanced Life Support Amid Scorching Heat: Report

Source: MEDIAite

Jul 3rd, 2026, 7:22 pm

CNN’s Brian Todd reported on Friday that seven attendees of President Donald Trump’s Great American State Fair required advanced life support, most likely after suffering heat-related ailments.

Organizers temporarily suspended the Freedom 250 festivities Friday afternoon as dangerous heat engulfed the National Mall, urging attendees over loudspeakers to leave the fairgrounds until around 5 p.m. Reporting live from the event, CNN’s Derek Van Dam said temperatures reached 99 degrees with a heat index of 111, calling it “very likely” the hottest Fourth of July celebration Washington, D.C., has ever experienced. Van Dam reported seeing emergency personnel treating heat-stricken attendees, said water refill stations had run dry, and measured ground temperatures at 135 degrees, as visitors crowded into the limited shade available.

Speaking with CNN’s Abby Phillip later on Friday, after the fair had reopened, Todd said, “Despite this pounding, oppressive heat, [guests] came back at about five o’clock EST to get back into the fair.”

He continued, gesturing toward the water visible behind him, “This is a unit of the D.C. Fire Department called ‘Fan Team One,’ and basically, this is what they’re doing. This is a large fan surrounded by about ten nozzles of water, and people are just standing under this, just getting sprayed and doused.”

For those asking - yes they apparently reopened after 5 pm EDT with more water stations and fans/misters.

101 degrees, no shade, no water, a LONG speech from trump "to show he can do anything", then overblown fireworks at 11.

This is essentially my vision of Hell.

3. Let's see... the worst of the worst will get to experience ice water baths, multiple full running IV's

in as many as 4 different veins--and if temp is too high and not coming down quickly, ice water enemas and potentially ice water gastric lavage--at which point cardiac arrest is common. At a hospital like George Washington, if they are fortunate to get a return to a (fairly) normal cardiac rhythm, they may well be worried about any number of things and, given the abilities there, might well put them on ECMO (advanced life support that takes the place of the heart and lungs for an indefinite amount of time, allowing injured organs to rest and recover). And that is if they don't develop an extremely serious clotting dysfunction known as DIC (disseminated intravascular coagulation-- which veterinarians darkly refer to as "dead in cage." I always found that to be an apt designation). If they recover, they may well have irreversible brain damage and/or some degree of multiple organ failure.

All to see "his highness, the King Trump" on this day and tomorrow in honor of our having supposedly "gotten rid of the monarchy" to create this country.

Worth it? I'd dare say not.

...any medical care will be out of plan.

Assuming they still have health insurance.

Hope everyone feels better soon.

Never considered the impact of the weather before this point. It’s as if they were facing a possible pandemic and ignored the tools available.

A reporter braving a blistering heat wave at President Donald Trump's Great American State Fair described chaos at the event as paramedics raced to save attendees, with seven said to be on "advanced life support" in the hospital.

Julian Andreone of Drop Site News was on the ground Friday at the fair detailing what he called a "hectic" scene.

"It really is hectic. It's chaotic. It's a total disaster," Andreone said. "They haven't planned for this at all."

As Andreone recorded the conditions, multiple people ran past carrying cold water to help their loved ones who had fainted. During one 71-second clip, Andreone recorded two people racing past him and an ambulance arriving separately with a siren blaring.

"People are profusely sweating and need water," he said.

Andreone reported in an X update that "7 people are on advanced life support in the hospital."

In another clip from the event, Andreone points to another person lying down in the back of an EMS truck making its way across the lawn. The event had already been temporarily shut down earlier in the day as the record heat gripped Washington, with organizers planning to reopen at 5 p.m.

I don't wish ill will on anyone except the one we all do. But, it would be STUPID to do this and risk your life. The people who are actually willing to subject themselves to this are idiots - and that tells you why they are there in the first place. To worship Trump.

I hope they all got the care they needed and will recover fully. Maybe the experience will teach them a lesson.
