Carney: Rubio’s Message Same As Romney’s

Source: TPM

PEMA LEVY 2:37 PM EST, WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 13, 2013

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Wednesday that Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) presented the same policy ideas that Mitt Romney ran on when he delivered the Republican response to the State of the Union Tuesday night.

"I would say one thing, which is that while the messenger may have changed, the message we heard last night from the Republican speaker was entirely consistent with the policy ideas that Mitt Romney campaigned on last year that the American people did not support," Carney said during his daily press briefing Wednesday. "If you look at the remarks by Senator Rubio last night, they could have been delivered by Governor Romney in their policy essence."

Carney did mention Rubio's push for bipartisan immigration reform, saying that aside from that one issue, the comparison to Romney holds up.

in to such a tight space that they cannot offer any new ideas. That's why they keep regurgitating the same talking points again and again. They've gone full derp on every item and making any changes would destroy the very singular "asset" of theirs, which is consistency.

It's like hardline religious people who are fulled wedded to their bible or koran or what have you. Once new information comes out the refutes claims made in the bible, or situations occur that isn't described or addressed in the bible, they can't adapt to the new situation and revert back to closing their eyes, ears, nose, mouths and brain to stay back on their own safe turf of fantasy life.

Seriously. When he released his plan it called for a path to legal status but no path to citizenship. That still leaves them paying taxes but not being able to vote, which is the direct opposite of the original Tea Party. That sounds like the same second class status partners in gay couples face -- a double standard in other words.

Dude blatantly lied at least three times during his "response". Which was obviously written before Obama delivered his SOTU address, because nothing he said had anything to do with what Obama said. GULP.

I love how the cameraman followed him off screen to the water bottle. That was so precious.

Hitching your wagon to a FAILED presidential candidate's policies.

Although I suspect Rubio's currently basking in the glow of FAUX and the usual far-right nutjob sites and doesn't even realize his enormous FAIL.

Did not bother to watch, only the highlights. Seems that Rubio is not yet ready for prime time.
