Joe Arpaio hired a convicted child-sex criminal for armed school “posse”
Source: Salon
Responding to calls from the National Rifle Association to arm teachers and school officials, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio vowed to deploy his gun-toting volunteers to monitor Arizona schools. Members of the 3,450-strong group began patrolling in January, and the sheriffs office announced recently that the program will continue into next year. But the thing is, no schools have actually requested this service from Sheriff Joe, and its easy to understand why.
Local news affiliate KPHO reported on Arpaios posse and found that the sheriff hired sex offenders, domestic abusers and other members with criminal records to serve and protect Phoenix-area schools.

Sheriff Joe hires role models for his posse to monitor schools. Role models like drug ubusers and domestic violence offenders... and of course sex offenders against children.

(6,041 posts)Sheriff Joe can always put together another group of armed posse to protect the school kids against the first armed posse.

(891 posts)If you follow the link to the Salon article and watch the video, you'll see Sheriff Joe in his uniform, which includes four stars on his shoulders and collar, like he's a four-star general. Talk about fucking delusional, does he think he's fucking Patton or something?

(9,474 posts)boycotted these schools, this would come to a screeching halt in a skinny minute. Of course, considering the fact that these are many of the same people who keep voting him into office, there's probably not a snowball's chance in hell of that happening. It'll be interesting to see the response when one of these pedophiles helps himself to a child, and that is bound to happen.

(22,651 posts)Republican money keeps that old mentally sick sheriff in power.
And why are some citizens being 'paid'? (ref- "the sheriff hired" )
Is that state funds used to pay for 3,500 plus criminals to patrol schools who do not want them? That sounds like a corrupt use of state money to me. who audits that 'club' of Joes? Republican terrorist run states are so corrupt. They squander state money on their nazi crap, like it belongs to them personally.

Seagal defended his qualifications to a room of baffled reporters:
Ive put hundreds of thousands if not millions of hours into my weapons training, adding he would do anything to protect Arizonas children.
1 year has 8,760 hours.
365 x 24 = 8,760
So let us divide just 1 million (not millionS) by that 8,760 hours in a year.
1,000,000 / 8760 = 114.15 (rounded)
So, Seagal has had up or beyond 114 years worth of weapons training. Mind you, this 114 number is if that training had occurred 24/7/365.
Either Seagal is a LOT older than I thought, or he's full of shit. I'm guessing it's the latter.

This is simply ludicrous. This is narcissistic grand-standing at its worst. A has-been action movie actor teaching a group of men who shouldn't be anywhere near a public school how to 'kill the bad guys'.
Jumping Jesus on a pogo stick, this kind of insanity galls me.
