Illinois Republican Legislator Compares Gun Regulations To Castration

Source: Think Progress

In a rant on the floor of the Illinois House of Representatives Tuesday, State Rep. Jim Sacia (R) objected to statewide gun violence prevention efforts comparing them to castration.

As the right-wing Red Alert Politics reported, Sacia screamed that the bill was being forced by Chicago legislators because they have a “runaway gun problem.”

SACIA: Don’t blame the rest of us. This isn’t about Democrats, it’s not about Republicans. It’s because Chicago wants a warm fuzzy. “Let’s pass a bill that will eliminate assault rifles.” Last year, there were more people killed with hammers than with assault rifles. Here’s an analogy folks, I ask you to think of this: You folks in Chicago, want me to get castrated because you’re families are having too many kids. It spells out exactly what is happening here! You want us to get rid of guns. … You bet I used Chicago as an example, because you’re the folks that want this craziness.”

another 728 with hands and feet.

Handguns killed 6220 people. Knives killed 1694.

While I don't think that hammers kill more than rifles, it is clear that rifles are low on the list of murder weapons. Handguns are the killers in America, followed by knives, hands and blunt objects.

the NRA and it's Teabagger supporters keep pedophiles and violent rapists well armed and protected from law enforcement efforts to unarm them. Why does the NRA need a pedophile and a klan member on thier board of directors? Not one NRA advocate has explained this. Maybe because NRA advocates are all hoping no one will notice thier own violent sexual acts and tools of death fetish.

... would've loved me then. I sold my car because it made no economic sense in retirement, when I can hire a driver cheap if need be. I had heavy duty wire baskets welded on the rear sides of my bike and a big one on the handle bars. When necessary I can bring a week's worth of groceries home on that contraption. Don't know if you could do that with a slimmer geared bike, but mine's a heavy old coaster type.

In this neck of the woods, that's another major social crime against me. I manage money far better than most of these GOP shriekers, and I fly in the face of too many conventions. One afternoon at a big rummage sale one of the women at checkout hollered above the noise of the crowded room: "Hey, ***, are you still riding that old bike around town?" Snicker, snicker. I chirped back, "Sure am!" (twirled around proudly) "And look what it's done for my figure!"

To understand the snark in my reply, you'd need to know that all 3 women sitting at that little table had to weigh close to 275 apiece. I'm a flyweight by comparison. Most of them are not too smart around here, what with brain drain and inbreeding, but they grasped the meaning that time. All of them jumped up and waddled off in a huff toward the kitchen. I had to make a freewill offering for my purchases.

Major point being, if you wake up in the middle of a teabagger pitchfork crowd, don't argue directly and don't let their barbs show any effect. Just pop a better one right back at 'em. I know for a fact I'm on the misnamed 'Patriot' enemies list, because it's been bragged about openly. If you think the GOP is a harmless bunch of bumblers, you're wrong. They're sociopaths teetering on the edge of trying to ignite a race war. But more on that story when I have time, boys and girls.

That it was the Framers guarantee against tyranny. I never realized it was really all about having a d*ck. Not only is this guy too insane to carry a gun, but I'm thinking he's sexually incompetent as well. If so, I'm of the opinion that a gun makes a terrible penis. It tends to kill whatever sex partner you have. And for that reason alone, they should be banned.

Are guns the same as kids?

Gun control equals castration?

Are men born with guns in their pants?

Did he hit himself in the head with a hammer?

To State Rep. Jim Sacia (R)

Why can’t we have it all? Sensible gun laws and you get to keep your gun and your di*k?

What do the people in Chicago having kids has to do with you losing your gun and your d*ck?

Finally, where can I find that story about more people are dying from a hammer killing compared to a gun?

46. Assuming ALL the "blunt object" deaths were hammers...
Sun Mar 3, 2013, 12:41 AM
Mar 2013
http://www2.fbi.gov/ucr/cius2009/offenses/expanded_information/data/shrtable_08.html

Let's play around with this...

In 2009, three times as many people were killed by "firearms, type not stated" than were killed by "blunt objects." Reality says the "blunt objects" were more than likely beer bottles, pieces of 2x4, and baseball bats rather than hammers; did you ever try to hit a moving object like a person with a hammer?

If all the "firearms, type not stated" were rifles, four times as many people were killed by rifles than by "hammers." In reality, most "firearms, type not stated" were pistols because pistols are so easy to conceal.

As someone else on this thread has pointed out, few to no people buy hammers with the intent of killing people. (Baseball bats are purchased with the intent of hitting baseballs, unless you play for the Rockies or the Mariners but we won't get into that...) Nearly everyone who buys a gun does so with the intent of killing with it...whether it's deer, bears, intruders, criminals, enemy soldiers, people fuckin' with the dope trade, cops, their husband...the number of people who buy guns specifically to compete in shooting contests is extremely low, and their guns are very complex.
