Investigators probing the deadly Boston Marathon bombings are circulating photos of two men spotted chatting near the packed finish line, The Post has learned.
In the photos being distributed by law-enforcement officials among themselves, one of the men is carrying a blue duffel bag. The other is wearing a black backpack in the first photo, taken at 10:53 a.m., but it is not visible in the second, taken at 12:30 p.m.
The attached photos are being circulated in an attempt to identify the individuals highlighted therein, said an e-mail obtained by The Post. Feel free to pass this around to any of your fellow agents elsewhere.

(135,060 posts)Authorities have clear video images of two separate suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings carrying black bags at each explosion site and are planning to release the images today in an appeal for the publics help in identifying the men, according to an official briefed on the case.
[bThe official said that the two suspects were seen separately on videotape -- one at each of the two bombing sites, which are located about a block apart.
The official, who spoke this morning on the condition of anonymity, said the best video has come from surveillance cameras on the same side of Boylston Street as the explosions. The official said the widely reported Lord Taylor surveillance camera, and snapshots from individual cell phone camera users, have not provided the clearest images.
It was unclear why authorities did not publicize images of the unidentified suspects yesterday. President Obama is visiting Boston today, and the timing of a law enforcement briefing remained unclear.

(16,230 posts)I don't recall anyone stepping up immediately after 9/11. Eventually they did, but not this soon afterwards.
I do tend to believe that this was domestic, but not because no one has taken credit.

(13,508 posts)... the NY Post photos were of two non-white people whereas other "circulated photos"
(e.g., in replies 25 & 26 of http://www.democraticunderground.com/1014457563) are
far more "domestic" looking ...

Nice and official and accessible by lots of eyes.

The FBI certainly doesn't owe us the photos, since they're trying to find the people. Why alert them that they're busted?
The idiots here are, as usual, the disgustingly irresponsible media. God forbid they wait until confirming shit. "There's been an arrest! (Talk about that for an hour) Wait, no arrest, but suspect in custody! (Talk about that for an hour) Wait, no. Oops. Nothing yet." Lather, rinse, repeat. Disgusting.
They know the FBI has their pictures, has them on video and has provided a description of their attire. One of them has been placed at the scene of the 2nd bombing dropping a backpack.
I'm guessing they already know they're busted. And they're probably long gone by now.

(65,417 posts)they might know who the the person or persons are and don't want to tip anyone off by releasing a photo and alerting the bombers friends.
It's only been 3 days.
Give it time, they will find those involved.

(5,756 posts)In the first pic the guy in blue clearly has a shoulder-strap from something like a gym bag - not backpack - over his right shoulder and nothing (like a backpack strap) over his left shoulder. There is something low around his left arm but their huge red ring around his face conveniently obscures whatever it is. In the second photo the guy in blue is STILL carrying a bag with the strap slung over his right shoulder. And gees, he's dressed as if he was going to or coming from the gym.
On Edit: Also note the guy in the white cap has his black backpack in BOTH pictures. So he didn't leave it on the street to blow up any more than the guy in blue left his bag on the street to blow up.
But they're dark and Arabic-looking and have bags - so they must be guilty. I feel really bad for these two guys right now. They're probably going to have to go into hiding for a while.
I love this really great sourcing they used:

E-mail from whom and to whom and obtained how?
In other news "The world is flat" said and e-mail obtained by me.
