Bangladesh Garment Factory Collapse Death Toll Reaches 1,000

The death toll from the collapse of the Bangladesh garment factory building two weeks ago has risen to 1,000, Shahnewaz Mohammad Golam Zakaria, an army captain in control room supervising the rescue operation, said by phone.

It could have been prevented, had the stores ordering the clothes insisted on humane working conditions for those in the factory.

Every country around the world has workers who are exploited for cheap labor. Imagine how bad it must be for mine workers, chemical workers, the fabric dye industry.
