The net closes in on super rich tax dodgers: Spies expose how hundreds of Britons are 'hiding billions' in foreign tax havens

Hundreds of ultra-wealthy Britons are being investigated for tax evasion following the exposure of their secret offshore accounts.

International spy agencies are thought to have helped obtain a 'goldmine' of data that names high-profile multi-millionaires and their financial advisers.

The files show how the rich have hidden billions in Singapore, the British Virgin Islands and the Caymans.

It would be incredibly satisfying to see an actual prosecution.
Something that involved more than a token fine.
I don't think given our track record of prosecuting the wealthy that I should hold my breath.
Has any of the MSM channels put out a story on this?

It reveals complicated financial structures using companies and trusts stretching from Singapore and the British Virgin Islands to the Cayman Islands and the Cook Islands.

often to areas where wages paid to workers are less, but also where money can be hoarded unseen by tax collectors, while simultaneously national and state borders prevent labor (poor people) from freely moving to areas where wages paid to workers are higher, is a fundamental flaw in free-market ideology. Even when people are able to move to those areas, such movement is far from free, and takes far longer than the press of a button and corresponding electrons traveling at the speed of light.

I'm not sure what the solution is, but it's clear that capitalists wish to keep people fooled into thinking there is a free market, when in fact it is rigged at the level of national border, and has been rigged similarly for thousands of years, rigged solely to protect a few filthy rich entities golden eggs.

as they did in 2009 - demand back taxes and penalties from those who do so voluntarily, in exchange for expunging these records from public scrutiny.

Then again, maybe the IRS will do a serious crackdown, and I'm wrong...? We'll see.

billionaires here than in the UK.

Another thing is that Obama never lifted a finger about impeaching Bush/Cheney
& Co. (who had performed treasonous acts and deserve to be impeached), yet
some Republican nuts are trying to impeach Obama for what had taken place in
Benghazi! And Obama is still trying to have a bipartisanship with the GOP.
Go figure!
