Americans' view of Congress at all-time low

Reporting from Washington—
Americans' hostility toward members of Congress is at a record high, a new Gallup Poll found.

Seventy-six percent of those surveyed said most representatives do not deserve to be reelected, the highest number in the 19 years Gallup has asked the question and six points higher than in August, just after the contentious debate over raising the debt ceiling.

Only 20% said most members should be reelected, a record low.

"If voters' current sentiments toward Congress prevail through next November's election, it is possible that control of the House would flip back to the Democrats," wrote Frank Newport, editor in chief of the Gallup Poll.

"Congress is controlled by oil and coal industry" Al Gore/Rolling Stone-June

Do we somehow think that for 40 years our liberal organizations have been

talking about corporations BUYING government and our candidates --

and that we WATCHED that buying and selling of our party and candidates

but that somehow it really didn't happen -- ???

It happened --

THAT'S WHY OWS IS IN THE STREETS --

How can there be any point in going back to the same corporate parties and corporate

candidates and and begging them to help you?

This nonsense has to stop at some point -- !!

Congress' ratings are low after that slew of atrocious TEA-baggers got elected.

It's going to swing back towards the democratic party. And, if the GOP continues with its freak show, it may be that both the Senate and the House will be a nice, shiny blue color.

The Tea Party was a huge flop. If the GOP thought the TP would save them...they now must be thinking of an escape route for fleeing on foot.

And yes, Liz Warren.

She's got that midwestern awesomeness going for her. She doesn't come across as a bloodless cadaver, like Kerry did. The race is hers to lose.

(WTF, Martha Coakley!?)

once the states have all the funds, the feds will have no $ and no power.

Then the states can get busy turning themselves into clones of western european nations. Like Vermont, Mass, etc.

how about states like arizona, some of the southern states and other states that are in full immigrant, "those other people" phobia? Some states would crush the rights of the minority, and there would be little or no federal protection.

As much as "we" (collectively) love to bitch about Congress, many people like their representatives because, in most cases, they reflect the political leanings of their community. I don't particularly like Congress as a whole but i love my Senator Mikulski, and like the other Senator Cardin and cute Congressman Sarbanes.

NO WAY does 1/5 of Congress deserve to be re-elected!

I think they should be grateful they're not being drawn and quartered.

Yes, my ancestors WERE in law enforcement in England in the 16th century - why do you ask?
