Report: Rep. Pallone Running For New Jersey Senate Seat

Democratic Rep. Frank Pallone intends to run for New Jersey's open Senate seat, sources told PolitickerNJ on Tuesday.
Gov. Chris Christie said earlier Tuesday that a special election will take place in October to fill the seat vacated by the late Sen. Frank Lautenberg, who died on Monday, and he will appoint someone to serve in the interim. The primary will take place on Aug. 13.

(22,057 posts)He can run for the senate this year and keep his house seat. However, if he loses to Booker this year and runs next year when the House is up for re-election next year he would have to give up his district.
