Holder promises Snowden will face justice
Source: Financial Times
US attorney-general Eric Holder has vowed to bring Edward Snowden to justice, accusing the former intelligence contractor who leaked information on top-secret surveillance programmes of endangering the safety of Americans and their allies.
Speaking in Dublin ahead of the G8 summit, Mr Holder said the actions taken by the 29-year-old now believed to be in hiding in Hong Kong had damaged the safety of the American people.
The national security of the United States has been damaged as a result of those leaks, he told reporters on Friday. The safety of the American people [and] the safety of people who reside in allied nations have been put at risk as a result of these leaks.

(3,596 posts)When he failed to prosecute those who intentionally lied us into war, cost trillions of dollars, cut short the lives of over 4,000 Americans and personally benefitted from the war, he was ineffective.
When he failed to prosecute those who dreamed up, sanctioned and salivated when we tortured individuals, he was a failure.
When he failed to prosecute the banks and other monied interests that tanked the global economy, he was a disaster.
When he set out to go after those medical marijuana dispensaries, he was a tragedy.
He should just give it up. He has been a total failure and a disgrace.
Relative to his immediate predecessors he is probably not any worse than them but I don't know why we are paying him a salary and benefits. I have yet to see a single thing he has done that is worth more than minimum wage. Most minimum wage-earners do a hell of a lot more work and more beneficial work than Holder.

What a hypocrite. Pick and choose who to prosecute. Pathetic. I'm sure the country's founders are just thrilled with the double standard that exists in this country today.

(14,896 posts)FUCK YOU Holder !!!!!
You want to talk about the endangering the safety of Americans ?
Why is the Bush administration not being held accountable for causing the deaths of U.S. troops, Iraqi troops, and Iraqi civilians ?
Why is Wall Street bigger, more powerful and still unregulated ?
Why are Gitmo detainees being force fed ?
Why has President Obama decided that executions carried out by drones is acceptable ? Executions without evidence, identification, or even association ? Executions justified by age, gender and proximity of closeness. How fucking sick is that ?
Why has President Obama interfered with every country that wants to hold the Bush administration accountable ?
Why are banks allowed to launder drug money ?
Why are you Mr. Holder going after medical marijuana dispensaries and patients.
Why hasn't anything been done about police brutality in this country ?
Why are our tax dollars being squandered on the Fake and Failed War on Drugs ?
FUCK YOU HOLDER ????
You are part of the problem, not part of the solution !!!!

(6,785 posts)I mean if we'd ever had a president guilty of war crimes we'd prosecute him for sure.

Well, if someone admitted to it on national television, we'd certainly never pass that up.

Return to the rule of law looks suspiciously like strike at anyone that offends us as long as we're sure they can't hit back.
