(CNN) -- A Florida jury of six women suspended deliberations Friday as it considers the fate of George Zimmerman, who is charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.
Judge Debra Nelson announced around 6 p.m. that the jury had asked to suspend deliberations for the night, and resume them at 9 a.m. Saturday. All sides accepted the proposal.

(1,314 posts)I was on a jury for a "man" who (I believe) molested 3 children over a period of several years. They were very young: 4, 7, 8, I think. I'll admit I tried to get out of being on the jury, but the lawyers on both sides chose me to remain.
When we got to the jury room, no one wanted to be the lead, so I took itand I'm not the leader type, believe me on that.
Many of the jurors were vocal saying they just wanted to say "guilty" to everything and get out of there so they could go home: "He's guilty, now let's go home." Some of them even laughing.
A few of us stood our ground: we followed the rules and read through each charge carefully, then discussed them, finally voting on them.
There were 8 charges against this man, and there was a unanimous vote of guilty on seven of them. But there was one charge that involved the youngest girl, that a few of us thought was not convincing and it held us up for another daywe requested to see the transcripts, etc. Eventually, the "guilty-on-all-let's-get-out-here" clan gave in, and we agreed that he was guilty on 7 of the 8 charges.
Anyway...after seeing those people wanting to get the hell out of there and not caring if the guy was guilty or not, made me wonder how many people have been found guilty by a jury of people with "more important things to do."
...by the way, I'm not saying Zimmerman isn't guilty, personally, I feel he is guilty: Zimmerman should have stayed in the car and let the police interview the "suspect."
