Reid: GOP can avoid rules change if they confirm 7

WASHINGTON (AP) Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Monday that Republicans must confirm at least seven presidential appointees they've been blocking if they want to avoid a controversial change in Senate rules as early as this week.

A compromise deal to confirm fewer than those seven will not suffice, Reid said only hours before a planned bipartisan gathering on the deeply divisive issue.

8. No, they'll agree to three, or four, or five confirmations

and Harry the Half-wit will cave. Again. Taking all bets. No rule changes in sight.

17. This isn't new

He stated at the get go that if these people were confirmed he wouldn't change the rules at this time.

20. I am not saying I agree with his position

I am just pointing out what his position was and that it hasn't change. The problem is that he doesn't have 51 votes to completely change the rule. He can only do what he has 51 votes for.

4. Shocking.

And these are only administrative posts, not judicial appointments.

Reid is so lame, and so are too many of our Democratic Senators.

World's Greatest Deliberative Body?

6. Why not? Those are 7 important appointments.

And if the GOP continues to obstruct into the future, Reid can always change the rules and end the filibuster on appointments then.

It's not as if this is a "now or never" situation.

11. Oh! if that's the case then I do expect Reid to change the rules

If it will allow senate DINOs to weasel out of representing their constituents, then it's all starting to make sense that Reid might consider changing the rules now.
