Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity to thank Helen for persisting in pursuing the truth. How difficult that must have been, particularly as she was moved to the back of the room, ignored, then excoriated in an attempt to break her spirit and get her to stop asking the tough questions. When she's in the room questioning, I always feel she carries the people's voice.
I only wish I could give more.

despite her shameful treatment at the end of her career. She was the same age as my formerly politically active mom, who died at 91. I always wished my mother, who'd really lost it during her last decade, could have remained as sharp as Helen did. Ultimately, I believe that Ms. Thomas's realistic stand about Israeli transgressions led to some readjustment in our attitudes. An originally righteous cause for the Israelis became shameful behavior toward the Arabic people due to some of their recent leadership. Unfortunately A lot of this still exists. BTW, my own crazy mix of a background includes some Jews, but absolutely no Arabs that I know of. I'm Agnostic, but truly hope that Helen Thomas has a well deserved reward in her chosen afterlife.
