Residents of the northern half of San Diego who wished to watch "The Help" or episodes of "Magic City" on television Friday night were out of luck as Time Warner Cable will block the Showtime network as part of a dispute with CBS.
<snip>
Time Warner has pulled over-the-air television stations owned and operated by CBS off the air, as well.
Since KFMB, also known as CBS 8, is not owned and operated by CBS, it still will be carried by TWC.
The dispute does not affect customers of Cox Cable, the cable franchise for the city in neighborhoods mostly south of Interstate 8.
Time Warner has a similar snag with Fox Sports, which it refuses to carry, leaving its customers without access to Padres baseball games.

(16,479 posts)They tell me I can barely receive two channels and require a very nice antenna to do it. Since they are an industry site, they naturally want to you to overbuy an antenna. I actually receive 12, and found that http://transition.fcc.gov/mb/engineering/dtvmaps/ accurately predicted it. In addition, you can get the direction and range to the towers.

(51,666 posts)I don't do TV, I watch things online. CBS has videos on their website but they are blocked here at the office (Time Warner). I can watch at home because that internet is AT&T.

A$$HOLE$!
I hope all TWC customers write in demanding a refund for not providing services for which
we've paid.
On edit: I just sent them "feedback" giving them a week to bring back Showtime or I'm switching
to a carrier that will provide that channel.
Damn, I hate TWC.
