Amber Alert: Kidnapping suspect killed in Idaho wilderness; girl safe
Source: Los Angeles Times
The man suspected of kidnapping 16-year-old Hannah Anderson was killed in the Idaho wilderness Saturday, but the girl was safely recovered, according to law enforcement sources.
James Lee DiMaggio, 40, was killed about 4 p.m. in a remote area near the town of Cascade, according to a source familiar with the investigation.
DiMaggio was the subject of an intensive manhunt in the wilderness above Cascade, where he had taken Hannah, who had been missing from her San Diego County community since Sunday.
No other details about how DiMaggio was killed were immediately available.*

(14,624 posts)He told her he had a "major crush" on her and she told a friend that "creeped her out" and she tried her best to avoid being alone with him. It sounds like he had been "grooming" her, and when she didn't want to be around him, he couldn't take it.
Creepy bastard!

I obviously am not familiar with the details but, apparently, she told her friend about how he she was uncomfortable around him, about not wanting to be alone with him in his car. So why not tell her parents?

(60,320 posts)Was god thanked for the murders and kidnapping? Or blamed? Or was god AWOL?
But somehow god gets thanked for the termination of the kidnapping.

(16,926 posts)According to them, She's pretty much full time employed at creating earthquakes, tornadoes and hurricanes. Then again, it's as punishment for being in a sinful geographical region, so probably still good stuff in their "minds".

(33,358 posts)I also support due process and oppose the militarization of police and extrajudicial killings. That said, if anything suspicious about the FBI's conduct comes out, expect this to be Rudy Ridge II.

(53,661 posts)Oh, wait. I forgot.
In the coming Libertarian paradise, without LEOs, vigilantes will take care of all these guys. My bad.
Maybe private armies like Rand Paul drools over in his rallies will do the job, like they do in all the banana republics:
That's gonna be some sweet liberty. America will finally be free. Oh, yeah, I can hardly wait.

Makes me wonder who this guy was. If he had connections up there, that girl could have been easily disappeared permanently, living in hell.
